Mick Jagger Hints At More Stones Dates
With The Rolling Stones hype machine now in full swing for the band's 50th Anniversary, it's perhaps unsurprising that Mick, Keith and others have been thinking about expanding their tour itinerary beyond their four recently announced shows. As NME notes, when asked if the band was thinking about heading down under, Mick Jagger had the following response: "Not this week! We're going to go and rehearse this week but I hope to go to Australia. I haven't been there in years." The singer was talking at the premiere for the band's new documentary "Crossfire Hurricane" and also discussed preparations for their upcoming shows in London and New Jersey: "Rehearsals are going really well. We've done loads of songs, we're playing well and everyone's sounding good." As Ultimate-Guitar noted, what appeared to be the set list for these gigs was posted on the band's Twitter page earlier in the week, and seemed to suggest that classics such as "Brown Sugar" and "Satisfaction" may not be played. The "Crossfire Hurricane" premiere which took place last night was attended by all of the current Stones, as well as former bass player Bill Wyman, who is rumoured to be making an appearance at the London shows. Tickets to the gigs went on sale at 9AM today, with tickets to the London shows costing £406. The cheapest price for admission was £109. Guitarist Keith Richards had previously stated "I just want to do some shows and I don't want to charge over the bloody top." The London O2 shows take place on November 25th and 29th while the gigs at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey shows are December 13th and 15th.
