Muse To Announce World Tour?

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has revealed that the band are considering a world stadium tour following the success of their shows at Wembley Stadium last summer.

The band’s two spectacular sold out performances at the recently regenerated venue in London drew worldwide acclaim – something which Bellamy admits is inspiring.

“What inspires us is the idea maybe of doing shows like Wembley Stadium, but trying to bring it to more countries around the world, because we haven't really toured at stadium level,” he told 6music.

The singer added that he can see two sides of the band evolving, which consist of big shows and smaller, more intimate gigs.

As we reported earlier, Bellamy has already confirmed that the band will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London this April on behalf of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Excellant band for sure but I don't think they can pull it off in the US, They're known but not to the degree of RHCP or other bands. I think they sold just under the limit at Red Rocks when I went which is roughly 25,000 so I really don't know if it'll happen

Anyone who is beefing Muse clearly hasn't seen them live and if you think they can't sell out stadiums around the world, they were the youngest headliners on the Barcelona Stadium part of Live 8. I think North America isn't ready yet for Muse, electronic stuff barely has any airplay there, it's mostly rap/hiphop/r&b and new rock bands of which are 90% emo or influenced by it (or just plain pop). Still, notice I said new bands, I'm not talking about older bands. Seriously, innovative sounds come mostly from europe atm. If you don't like it, change it So that's the reason I think for the lack of interest in Muse from America. Just my opinion though.

Yeah, they're not going to sell out in North America. Russia, Japan and Europe - no problems. But, the US is going to be harder.

I like Muse - Bellamy is an amazing pianist and really proficient guitarist - but I've found now that after 4 albums, most songs have an intro that makes you go "Wow, that was awesome", but by the middle of the song, you forget what track you're listening to.

"Fury" (a b-side) is a perfect example of this.

I would love nothing more than for Muse to come to the Virginia Beach Ampitheatre. They get alot of airtime on the radio over here, however I don't think they're popular enough to sell out a stadium. Me and my girlfriend are the only Muse fans in our group of friends.

Bellamy's voice is fantastic, easily his greatest talent. I find it interesting though how highly people rate him as a pianist, his piano parts tend to be flashy, and while they sound great they are deceptively easy.

Wasn't he one of the first to use the Kaoss pad in the guitar which is a kinda new direction to take? I understand not liking their music because maybe it doesn't do it for you, but he is probably the most influential guitarist out there right now as evident by their scores of fans. Be glad that they are at least making good music which is a rarity in mainstream music nowadays. He can play pretty damn fast if you check out the live solos to new born, little guitar interlude in Muscle Museum circa 2004, and create insanely tight riffs such as the Groove and Stockholm Syndrome. If you have only listened to their radio stuff, you havent really listened to Muse at all, considering some of their best stuff never were released as singles/didn't chart

If you had read past the first two lines of my comment you would have realized that I do, in fact, like Muse. I also think Bellamy is a good guitarist, just not at legend status. He, in my mind, is more of a great musician than a great guitarist. He is well-rounded and talented. It is very nice to hear talented musicians in the mainstream.

Well, this would be a good point if you didn't basically call all of North America one country. But other than that, yeah Muse is pretty good and definitely among today's the best. And also don't generalize a country (much less a whole continent) as to having completely unanimous feelings.

I was going to see them when they were opening for My Chemical Romance but then like half the stage crew and some of the My Chemical Romance guys got food poisoning so they canceled the show. Hopefully I'll finally get to see them this time around.

Anywho, Muse are most definitly my favorite band but I just don't like all this "Muse are the next Pink Floyd" and what not. I agree that they are making music in new interesting ways and their musicianship is fantastic but let's not get carried away now, only time will tell if they truly deserve such a comparison

but to be honest, stadium concerts just aint as good as smaller indoor gigs.
i'd take muse playing in brixton academy over muse playing in wembley stadium ANYDAY. loses alot of atmosphere in stadiums coz of the weird echoes what with the stadium stands not being fully filled, and it sucks if yer at the back lol.

argh.. queens' best album is the live version at wembley.. many other bands have it just like that.. I've seen Muse in the open air at a festival, it was great, so I think that Muse will be just as good in a stadium.. And if you're at the back, u just came too late

I saw them both times they came to Texas last year. Mmm, they were so good! I'd love to see them sell out the AA Center or Pizza Hut Park again, but it's highly unlikely, they just don't get enough exposure here in the U.S.

That said, there's a pretty large contingent of Muse fans at my school.

This is good news and Muse really deserve it but I wish they'd return to their older style e.g. Origin of Symmetry and put less of an emphasis on the songs of BHAR during shows. I also can't understand why Knights of Cydonia is so popular, yes it's a good song and probably the best of BHAR but the majority of the tracks of the first three albums, including some b-sides, are much better than it.

NCWP, Why don't you go jump off a cliff? If Muse are so crap (as you say they are) why has Mathew Bellamy been rated as one of the best guitarists around in thr rock world today? I rest my case. They are rock just a different type like Mark Bolan, he was rock but a different a new type (glam rock). They are a great band Muse and I hope they come to Cardiff. So gutted when I could'nt get tickets for them at Wembley. They have an awesome bassist (christopher Wolstenholme) awesome guitarist and lead singer (Matthew Bellamy) and an awesome drummer(Dominic Howell). Basically, they are just awesome. Anyone who thinks the same, please add me as a friend. I am jealous of everyone who has seen Muse .

Yes I agree that Matt's voice can be annoying, but so can bon scott, brian johnson, johnny rotten, etc. but it goes with their style. As for the guitar, Matt's a beast, and he is very talented in other instruments, especially piano.

Muse is definintly in my veiw the best band since morrissey and the cure! Ive been keeping up with their amazing music since 2004. The vocals and every instrument in their music are suprisingly tight and you can tell the work hard at their music. I think they deserve all the respect in the world. They definintly inspired my band! GO MUSE!
