New Found Glory Pull Out Of Carling Weekend

According to NME, New Found Glory have pulled out of the Carling Weekend: Reading And Leeds Festivals. The band were due to appear on the main stage of this month’s event, on a bill that also includes Green Day and 50 Cent.

However, the band will now not come to the UK for the shows, probably because they have been offered the opportunity to take part in the MTV Awards in the US. A spokesperson for the festival said: "We are disappointed the band feel that this is more important than playing the festivals."

This year’s event takes place over the weekend of August 27-29.

omfg i cant believe that. That cant be true. I mean sure they arent that spectacular but they got lots of fans why pull out of something u already have arranged to do some gay mtv thing. Doesnt make any sense to me. Well sorry to all those nfg fans that wanted to see em. It sucks that something like mtv can be more important to a band than the reason they would have formed to start with.

Hmmm. It'd be way cooler for them to play a fesitval, but I wouldn't be attending either way. NFG may be staying back because I'll bet they have a way bigger fanbase here in the States that could attend the MTV show than the reading and leeds festival in the UK. Wouldn't MTV only let them play one song anyway? Bleh, I don't know the whole situation. UG news is a big section of shitty journalism... How about the band's side? I mean they have to have SOME reason...

okay i may have preached a couple of times about people being wrongly accused of selling out, but for all you out there THIS is a GREAT example of selling out. They'd rather help corporate ***ing MTV the ruiner of the music scene today than play to real fans. I have lost all respect for them

i just saw them this past wednesday at warped tour and our UK friends are really out of luck because they put on an amazing show, i really was only there for yellowcard and a few other bands but NFG tore it up they had an amazing show, i would pay the $28.50 to see
them alone. and the green day, NFG tour that is coming up should be sick and i will deffinatley be there

guitarguy8810, um who cares about money dude, I'd take the radio festival any day over the dirty MTV awards, NFG may not be sellouts but johnny thas pretty bad of them to cancel a bigger better show in Europe. I mean think of it this way there only gonna play like one song on the MTV awards, as opposed to a whole freekin set at the Carling Weekend gig. I dont know it just seems idiodic to me.
