Osbourne, Motley Crue Headline Ozzfest 2010

After a one-year hiatus, Ozzfest is set to return this year.

The coveted festival is scheduled for a six-date tour in August and will feature Ozzy Osbourne himself along with Motley Crue, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, Black Label Society, Drowning Pool and others for a total of 13 artists per stop. This year's edition will feature two stages and will take place in Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Hartford, Camden (New Jersey) and San Bernardino (California).

Osbourne himself said he's excited for the tour even though he didn't plan the event.

"My wife and my son deal with all that sort of stuff," he said. "It'll be good to see Motley Crue again."

Ozzfest 2010 will mark the first time Osbourne and Motley Crue have toured together since 1984 and will the first mobile version of the tour since 2007. In 2008, the event was one-day only in Dallas and featured Osbourne, Metallica and other performers who made tributes to guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (Pantera).

The following are the scheduled dates for Ozzfest 2010:

08/14 - San Bernardino, CA @ San Manuel Amphitheater
08/17 - Chicago, IL @ First Midwest Bank Amphitheater
08/19 - Pittsburgh, PA @ First Niagara Pavilion
08/21 - Hartford, CT @ Comcast Theater
08/22 - Camden, NJ @ Susquehanna
08/24 - Boston, MA @ Comcast Center

So disappointing, ozzfest hasn't been the same since 2005. i'm a fan of motley cure, but really? and also, 6 dates? i'm sorry to say but ozzfest is dead, and Rockstar Mayhem is the new shit.

He said in the Sirius broadcast that "...it (Ozzfest) is going to be bigger than ever." With only 6 dates and 13 bands? I'm sorry, but it had much more bands/dates in '07! I'm even more pissed because none of those shows are even close to where I live! I will now sum it all up into just one word, BULLSHIT!

Sigh...this is a major letdown. Halford and BLS would be the only names I'd care to see. Hopefully tickets are cheap, or count me out.

Good decision! NJ is Notorious for awful drivers. Ozzfest looks pretty tight this year.

MC sucks. I was there for free fest in St. Louis back in 07 and it was my one and only trip to Ozzfest. It will likely remain that way if this shit keeps happening. Bad move, Ozzy.

This year's probably the worst Ozzfest lineup ever. Devildriver caught my eye, but their new album is horrible and Dez's live vocals ain't so great, at least from the shows I've seen from them.

The crazy part, is that a band I was in a few years back opened up for Nonpoint. No one was at this show. NO ONE. And it's not like it was a haggard venue, it's already sold out for Killswitch Engage, Sevendust, Mushroomhead, etc. But what I'm getting at, is that they're playing the main stage of Ozzfest, albiet a shitty year, but Ozzfest nonetheless.

And not only does their style not fit the bill, I'm completely unaware of any remotely relevant material that they might have put out in the last four or so years..

horrible. I really do like the lineup. Motley Crue are a really fun live show and i've been wanting to see anything from judas priest live. But only six dates is a huge letdown...horrible move on their part.

Agreed, American festivals are awful in comparison to those found around the world. This sucks, 6 dates? And Mayhem festival is far worse than Ozzfest. Oh well... I have summer slaughter to look forward to for Decaptiated.

Summer Slaughter + Ozzfest = Make up for huge dissapointment in Mayhem. This year might not turn out so bad after all.If only LoG would jump ship and play at Ozzfest... thats only in my dreams.

well that's cool, i love motley crue, but vinces voice is shot and i couldn't even make it through the Cruefest DVD, like it really sounded that bad. Which is sad cause Sixx, Mars, and Lee are such awesome dudes

Have you watched older videos of MC? Becuase, quite frankly, Vince always sucked live.
Don't get me wrong, I love the band and I plan on seeing them live here at Ozzfest for the 3rd time now.... but he's not really that great.

This is such a HUGE let down for me and many people i know. It seems like Ozzfest has been getting more and more disappointing with every tour that passes. The only bands I'd like to see is BLS and Devil Driver. 2 out of 13 bands? Come on Ozzy, maybe you should start picking these bands yourself. After all it is entitled OZZFEST!!!
