The lineup for the 2009 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California has finally been announced and promises to leave no one disappointed.
Heading up the massive list of artists are Paul McCartney, The Killers, and The Cure. The festival takes place on April 17-19 and will be divided evenly between that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. McCartney will be headlining the Friday night slot alongside Morrissey and Franz Ferdinand. Saturday night will be fronted by The Killers with Amy Winehouse and Thievery Corporation. Finally the festival will wrap up on Sunday with headliners The Cure being supported by My Bloody Valentine and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Of course that’s not all you get when you go to
Coachella. Along with the bigger bands mentioned above there will be a second stage where dozens and dozens of smaller acts will be playing over the course of the weekend. These include the

Lupe Fiasco,
Public Enemy, and
TRAV$DJ-AM.

The Coachella Festival begins on April 17 and lasts through April 19. Tickets are currently on sale here at $269.00 for a 3-day pass and $99.00 for a single day pass. Coachella is also offering a layaway program for tickets that will allow hopeful buyers to pay for their tickets in installments rather than all at the same time. However, all layaway orders need to be completed before February 28, 2009.
