The Pixies have extended their North American tour, where they will only visit place they have dubbed "lost cities".
It's good news for the lesser known venues, who might rarely get the chance to see big name acts on their billing. For the Pixies, it's a respectful nod to their punk past - but perhaps a sign that the group are finding it hard to fill larger venues, despite the group being a commercial, critical and cultural success for decades.
Drummer
Dave Lovering commented on the second year of the tour (via
NME). "
Two years and counting in this celebration of 'Doolittle''s 20th anniversary. But people keep asking us to bring 'Doolittle' to their city, and we're really happy to do it."
