Queen To Stage Sequel To Popular West End Musical

artist: queen date: 04/16/2008 category: upcoming tours

Queen’s guitarist Brian May has confirmed that plans are in place for a sequel to the West End musical, We Will Rock You.

May described the task of following up the original as a “real challenge”.

Almost two million people have seen the Ben Elton directed We Will Rock You musical since it opened in 2002.

The production has also gone on to tour theatres in Australia, Europe and the US.

Speaking shortly before he was installed as Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University April 15th, May also confirmed that Queen will release a new album later this year.

The long arm of Queen has pulled me back in at the moment. It is a beast,” he said.

The album will be accompanied by a new tour, which May admitted had become “very consuming”.

We've chosen our set, we've chosen our environment on tour. It is very exciting, very exciting indeed. Very time consuming but Queen always was consuming."

Thanks for the info to Gigwise.com.

You shut up.

I saw the play almost two years ago in London. Very funny. I can't quite remember but it couldn't have been long before that that I saw Q+PR live. What a killer show. I'll support anything Queen does. A Night at the Opera and Queen II are my two favorite albums and May is my absolute favorite guitarist.

I agree with you Bloran, Brian May is sick, and besides, even if we don't like Rodgers voice on some songs, not that i dont like him, but we can always pay attention too. Music is also something that isn't allways vocally special, the instruments can kick some major a%^.

Why must a bratty argument over a band start ALREADY on this article?

Let's hope it's not a sequel repleased in the red light district... Tie Your Mother Down could be an (in?)appropriate title.
