According to Blabbermouth.net, heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio's upcoming European tour has been canceled after the musician fell ill.
The singer's wife/manager Wendy Dio said the Heaven & Hell and Black Sabbath frontman "has been hospitalized" and they "are waiting for further news". Dio's lineup for the European tour was supposed to include Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich, bassist Rudy Sarzo, drummer Simon Wright and keyboardist Scott Warren.
The canceled shows include:
11/21 - O2 Academy, Glasgow
11/22 - O2 Academy, Sheffield
11/24 - HMV Forum, London
11/25 - O2 Academy, Birmingham
11/27 - Manchester University, Manchester
11/28 - The Engine Shed, Lincoln
11/30 - O2 Academy, Bristol
Dio was also supposed to reveal a new single called "Electra" on the European tour. Nothing has been said yet if it will be released in the near future.
