German hard rockers, the Scorpions, have revealed that they are planning a big reunion show with former members, that they are working on a new rarities DVD, and that their impending retirement may not be the last we see of them.
The band announced last year that their current tour, the Get Your Sting And Blackout Farewell Tour, will be their last. However, Rudolph Schenker revealed to Bravewords that the band still have plenty to do before they call it quits.
First up, they want to put together a huge reunion concert with former band members
Uli Jon Roth,
Michael Schenker and drummer
Herman Rarebell.
Also, a DVD & Blu-ray of the Get Your Sting And Blackout Farewell Tour tour is being put together and Schenker added that the band have over 800 hours of never-released footage that they want to start releasing after the tour ends; footage that dates back to the beginning of the band until now.
And then he revealed that the band will still be open to play one-off shows after the tour is over. He says that the farewell tour is simply a farewell to touring.
No UK dates have been announced on their tour, but we’re expecting some in the nearish future.
Thanks for the report to PlanetRock.com.
I saw them about a week ago on their tour and it was the best concert I have ever seen. I just hope they don't become one of those bands that say they are quitting and then come right back and make more albums and start touring as if nothing happened. But i guess playing one-off shows makes kind of sense.
