Sharon Wants AC/DC For Ozzfest

Sharon Osbourne told Metro of the Philadelphia rock radio station 94 WYSP in a recent interview that she would love to get AC/DC to play next year's Ozzfest. "AC/DC are my favorite band," she said. "I love them. I would love to see Ozzy and AC/DC play together."

Ozzfest, a touring event for more than a decade, this summer transformed into a "destination festival." Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica headlined the one-day show on August 9. Also appearing on the main stage were Serj Tankian, Korn singer Jonathan Davis, Hellyeah, Cavalera Conspiracy, Shadows Fall, Apocalyptica, In This Moment and the "all-star tribute" to slain Pantera and Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (read story at this location).

Last year's Ozzfest, which hit 25 cities, was a free event, with tickets handled through corporate sponsorship. The tour caused controversy by asking acts to play without getting paid, which many felt led to a weaker lineup.

But AC/DC shouldn't do it, they're too old so it'll probably be a one day thing, and it won't be free because when you get big bands together, they want a lot of money...

I think that they should only book bands that will play for relatively cheap so that they can make it free like '07.

Man i hate it when people say this band and that band is selling out. The moment the public knows a band is when the band sells out. If they didnt sell out and do it for the money, then people wouldnt know them at all. If every band plays for free, they wouldnt have any money. it takes all day for pratice and to perfect what they do. Its a job. musicians' job is to entertain.

if the stars align, and Black Sabbath got back together for a whole ozzfest tour with AC/DC, then i will go. the 'free' ozzfest had the worst line-up ever, the only major act they had was ozzy and was lucky enough that he even showed up, otherwise i would have been severely pissed.

Ok first off, no offense to Ozzy cuz he is the man, I wouldn't want to see my fav band at that shity event. Ozzfest is for those not so popular bands to get famous. As I last recall it, they don't need much help in the popularity department. Plus they are hitting their tour later this year so yeah!

They may agree to it, but they won't play WITH Ozzy, because they are an awfully strange band in that they rarely ever do covers, any less popular songs, any cameos, or anything other than an album and a tour.
