Slash Eyes Up Slot At Download Festival

Slash has revealed that he's in talks to perform at Download Festival this summer.

The 44-year-old guitarist – real name Saul Hudson – says he's eyeing up some European festival dates following the release of his eponymous debut solo album on May 10th.

He told Radio 1's Newsbeat: "I know we were talking about doing Download and there's a couple of other ones. We'll do some around Germany as well."

Slash also said that there will be some live shows in the near future, adding: "We're going to start doing shows in April and a couple of shows in May.

"Then I'm going to start touring properly in June doing the summer festivals in the UK."

As reported earlier this month, "Slash" features an array of special guests including Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Lemmy Kilmeister and Kid Rock.

When I first saw the title, I was like 'Goddamn you Download, signing up all my favourite bands when you know I'm going to Sonisphere.' But then I read through and realised what he said. "Then I'm going to start touring properly in June doing the summer festivals in the UK." FestivalS with an S. As in plural. There's hope for Sonisphere yet.

Download keeps getting better. I'm actually way more excited for Download now than Sonisphere.

Sonisphere (to quote James Gill) got their willy's out on the table too early! You know, we've got massive dicks called Iron Maiden and Rammstein.
Those two bands are really why i'm going to soni too, because its Maiden and 2 times isn't enough and never seen Rammstein (they've gpt lots of fire, exploding babies with lazer eyes and treadmill keyboardists).

Sonisphere start annoucing some more bands (finally) mext week!
