With Black Sabbath reuniting, Slipknot touring and an upcoming big announcement from Metallica, metal heads can only fantasize about these three massive acts sharing the stage. A new report from Artisan News suggests these bands may get together for a huge massive festival tour in the summer.
With the Big 4 shows and 30th anniversary gigs behind them, Metallica are set to deliver a big announcement in January of next year.
Even though Black Sabbath have released dates for their European trek, there haven’t been any North American shows announced yet. Can fans look forward to the return of Ozzfest? Who knows?
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has said in numerous interviews and on stage during his solo tour where he performs acoustically and reads from his new book that Slipknot will be on tour next year and doing a late summer run in the United States on a major festival. Ozzfest? Mayhem? Just tell us already!
None of this is confirmed, but Artisan News has put together a series of video clips (see below) that hint at the possibility of this massive festival tour. So, if you thought 2011 was huge for hard rock and heavy metal, hold on tight because 2012 seems like it’s going to be a crazy one for metal heads.

Jeez today must be a slow news day. If a UG writer can put together a line up he'd like to see, then I will too.
Between the Buried and Me, Porcupine Tree, Rush.
"Lets post rumors as news"
something tells me that Metallica's Big News announcement is going to be something along the lines of an album date
im skeptical of the rumor just because of the inclusion of Slipknot, sure theyre a big band with a legion of followers (maggots? i think you call yourselves?) but theyre nowhere on the level of Metallica and Black Sabbath as far as Metal goes.
to me it just seems like a big coincidence that all 3 people have no plans announced for January, and i will continue to think of it like this until there are some confirmation from the band themselves.
Metallica... HELL YEAH! Original line up of Black Sabbath... FUCK YEAH!!! Slipknot... Whatever. I mean it's not that I hate Slipknot because I don't but I have never really been into Slipknot hell I'm not even into Nu Metal that much. I'm mostly into the old shit like Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Slayer those type of bands.
Hopefully it's not with Slipknot and/or Metallica. No disrespect to those two bands, I just feel Black Sabbath should tour with bands from their time like Judas Priest. That would make for a kick ass show!!! Good to have you back, Sabbath!
I f u c k i n g love you!!!
****..thats gonna suck (i dont care for slipknot or metallica...i was hopin for sabbath to tour with down , mastodon and/or red fang. hell i cant see myself puttin out the cash for 2 bands i dont like. this line up will keep me from seein them.

I know it says the United States, but don't forget that Slipknot are partly headlining Soundwave early next year, which IS a big festival
No disrespect to them, but Slipknot will turn a good many people off this tour. The kids may like it, sure, but to the more adult metalheads, Slipknot's set will just be a big forty-five minute bathroom break before Metallica and Sabbath
Soundgarden would be a better fit than Slipknot if Chris Cornell could get on top of singing live. I like Metallica's older stuff enough to be able to wait through their set and see Sabbath, but I couldn't make it through a Slipknot set.
Then Slipknot can't do it cuz their having second thoughts...then they get replaced on the tour by Black Veil Brides. Cuz some idiot rich manager guy is like (insert low idoit voice here)"well they both dress up"
ahahahahahaha I'd laugh my ass off...

I see whatcha mean. But Sabbeth'll probably be the same for the younger kids though (i am ashamed of our generation but its probably true) so it'll balence itself out.

I was hoping for Sabbath to tour with Down as well. Regardless, I'll still go just because this may be the last time we get to see the original Sabbath lineup. Just hope I can afford it.
If that really happens and i could afford it which i probably cant i would sit through Slipknots set and stare at all the posers, and when theyre done and Metallica comes on i'll see how many leave, and when they play thrash metal songs i'll mosh, and when they play anything else i'll pack a few bowls and wait for Black Sabbath and trip out on the metal gods!haha Who's comin' with me?

Sabbath, Down, and Corrosion Of Conformity(with Pepper) Would have been my lucky ****ing moment

Metallica playing Blackened won`t make you mosh anymore, James` will just sing lullaby-style through the entire set.

Now granted that I have not been able to take Slipknot seriously since I was sixteen years old, I still really liked them back in the day and wouldn't mind seeing them if they really are performing with Sabbath and Metallica. Seeing them live would be a bit nostalgic for me, and being able to see Metallica and the original Black Sabbath lineup in the same night would be one hell of a show!

I don't think you understand how festivals work...
Yeah, thanks to Metallica being there, I won't be able to afford tickets. Fucking money hungry bastards. I've been to plenty of concerts, all of them being for pretty popular bands, and the most I've ever had to pay was $50.00
i enjoy all 3 of these bands and i think it would be a badass show...however as it was said metillica hasnt put out anything worth listening to since what the black album? which was like 15 plus years ago i think lol and it wasnt really that great either..so in fear of them playing there newer stuff i say get rid of them and throw someone else in..anyone would work..

you know that the labels come up with the ticket prices. if you're a real fan you'll buy the ticket regardless
