The legendary Sparks celebrate the release of their acclaimed new album "Hello Young Lovers" with a free show at HMV's 150 Oxford Street store in London's West End -? Sparks' first-ever in-store PA -- on Friday, Feb. 17 at 6.30 pm.
The band -- led by the brothers Ron and Russell Mael -- will be performing some of their classic songs as well as tunes hot from the new album in a show that starts at 6. 30 pm. After the gig Ron and Russell will remain in the store to meet fans and sign copies of "Hello Young Lovers," the 20th album in Sparks' long and illustrious career. The album was released on Monday, Feb. 6.
The HMV gig comes as a prelude to Sparks' headlining London show -- the climax to the band's current UK tour -? at the Forum on Saturday Feb. 18. For the first half of the Forum concert Sparks will be performing "Hello Young Lovers" in its entirety, with the second half given to a celebration of their greatest hits including, of course, the band's classic 1974 chart debut smash, This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us.
