The reformed STP are on tour in support of their sixth studio album, “
Stone Temple Pilots”, which was released on May 25th 2010, and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The band had previously postponed 12 of their US dates in September 2010 after a rambling speech from front man
Scott Weiland that alluded to his brother’s death, his divorce and that he had started drinking again.
This came after accusations that the singer was using backing tracks in concert following a fall onstage in Cincinnati in which his vocals were apparently unaffected. Weiland has since denied these claims, stating “[STP] are a rock ‘n’ roll band. Rock ‘n’ roll bands perform live”.
