Sum 41, All-American Rejects Lead Warped Tour Lineup

Sum 41, Andrew W.K., Motion City Soundtrack and The All-American Rejects lead the initial list of acts announced for next summer's edition of the Van's Warped Tour.

Other performers signed on for some or all of the 43-date trek include The Dillinger Escape Plan, Reel Big Fish, Never Shout Never and Every Time I Die.

Earlier this month, organizers unveiled a schedule for next year's event that kicks off June 24 in San Diego and will run through an Aug. 15 show in Hillsboro, OR. The 2010 version of the tour will be a week shorter than last year's outing to accommodate "all the back to school schedules," according to tour planners.

Last year's 15th anniversary edition of the long-running tour featured more than 50 acts, including NOFX, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag and Flogging Molly. Organizers celebrated the milestone with a two-hour movie encapsulating the tour that played at more than 400 movie theaters across the country during a special September event.

More than 30 bands on this year's tour participated in building a custom-painted drum to be auctioned for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, which is made up of families and professionals working together to promote and fund research, provide education, and offer support to enhance the quality of life of those affected by the syndrome.

Event promoter and Lollapalooza veteran Kevin Lyman, who had previously worked on several shows that combined skateboarding and music, created the tour in 1994.

Check out the current Van's Warped Tour lineup here.

Thanks for the report to Livedaily.com.

it's a really crappy lineup... although, it's never really had a great lineup, it had about 3 or 4 bands that i'd wanna see... so far this year is the casualties...

The linup is just, just terrible. I've never seen a bigger list of thin and empty music in my life. The only bands I'd wanna see are Reel Big Fish, The Casualties, and Sum 41.

The All-American Rejects, The Casualties, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Reel Big Fish, Sum 41

IMO those are the only good bands in the lineup (there's a lot that I don't know, so maybe I'm very wrong), I'd go just for The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Casualties, but if I have to stand Attack Attack....I don't know if I can do that, specially if they play 40 mins

Agreed. The Flatliners are awesome too but i doubt they're playing anything other than the Toronto show (hometown show for them, 500 miles away for me).

I forgot about the Flatliners, I saw them with NOFX a while ago and they put on a good show.

Going for Reel Big Fish, Tip The Van, The Flatliners, Andrew WK, Sum 41, Riverboat Gamblers, The Casualties, and probably Every Time I Die. So I'm actually looking forward to it.

From the sounds of things, last year's lineup was WAY better. I'm glad I went. :
Gallows was my personal highlight. I'd totally be into seeing Dillinger and ETID though.

i half hoped that Blink 182 would perform just cause theres a tradition almost behind the blink members to be playing warped in someway, like angels or Plus 44

Bands are fine.

Ruining the integrity of Warped Tour.

Don't give a damn about Sum 41, but I've been dying to see Motion City Soundtrack for years. Reason enough for me to go. Andrew W.K. will be nice to see too, hell, even All American Rejects wouldn't be too bad, even though I'm not too big on them.

Alesana, Attack Attack, Breathe Carolina, Bring Me The Horizon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Emarosa, Every Time I Die, Eyes Set To Kill, Haste The Day, Hey Monday, In Fear And Faith, Mayday Parade, Motion City Soundtrack, NeverShoutNever, The Rocket Summer, Spark The Rescue, Suicide Silence, Sum 41, The Swellers, We The Kings, Whitechapel, You Me At Six

I don't mean to bring this argument to this forum, but I hate what music has become these days...just metalcore and pop punk, and it all sounds the exact same! I mean it's like no effort is put into music anymore, just everyone wanting to make a semi-almost good band with the exact same sound as everyone else. WHERES THE ORIGINALITY??? WHERES THE SOUL??? WHERES THE HEART IN THE SONGS ANYMORE???

If no one agrees, then god damn were all done for, but if someone agrees, then there is hope for the future...

Pool_Shark wrote on 12/24/2009 - 05:11 am / quote |
-minus the bands I said above, they're all original...

Parkway Drive =D hell yea! such a shame they don't get as much attention as they deserve outside of Australia

sublimeforlife wrote on 01/07/2010 - 12:52 am / quote |
sum 41 get zero of the credit they deserve as a heavier band and it pisses me off. how the hell are they labeled as pop-punk?!?!?! if anyone actually listened to "does this look infected?" and especially "chuck," they'd hear how heavy and agressive this band really is, and would realize they are far better than that shitty "fat lip" blink-182ish band.
