Volcanic ash didn't stop Sum 41 from getting to Europe last time, but now a car accident has. The band have postponed their European tour dates after drummer Steve Jocz was involved in a car accident on Tuesday (May 25) night.
Sum 41 say they will return to Europe to play rescheduled dates after they finish touring North America this summer.
"
Stevo was in a minor accident yesterday and is unable to get on a airplane to fly to Europe," the band wrote on their website on Wednesday. "
Anyone who knows our band, knows that touring is our life and is the primary reason we play music. We are completely and utterly bummed and we all wish Stevo a speedy recovery."
Sum 41 have been working on the follow-up to 2007's Underclass Hero, which they've said is "bigger, darker, and more aggressive than anything [they] have ever done."
The band's dates on this year's Vans Warped Tour aren't expected to be affected by Jocz' car accident.
You can see Jocz, singer/guitarist Deryck Whibley, guitarist Tom Thacker and bassist Cone McCaslin on the following dates.
