Eve 6 are about to really experience what the Great White North is all about with their upcoming Essential Music Tour kicking off on January 17 in Vancouver. The Southern Californian rockers better get ready because they are in for one hell of a drastic change in climate.
"I’m looking forward to the tour. I think I’m gonna have to go out and buy a winter coat though. I’m not looking forward to the winter weather, that’s for sure," says lead singer Max Collins. "The last time we were here we enjoyed it. We liked our Canadian audience and we got a good response. Yeah, we liked playing Summersault."
Of course,
Summersault (which, as you can imagine, took place over the summer of 2000) meant sunshine, beer, teens in bikinis and BBQ. But while this time around Collins is a bit hesitant about the cold weather, he is excited to play with Floridian punk-ska-rockers
Yellowcard and Canada’s own punk-rockers
Jersey.
"I heard [Jersey’s] record, they have this sort of Rancid flavour thing going on," says Collins. "I’ve heard a couple of their songs, they’re good."
Eve 6’s own evolving sound is clearly present on their newest and third release, "It’s All In Your Head". The new album is the follow-up to 2000’s Horrorscope and Eve 6’s 1998 self-titled debut, which propelled band members Collins, Jon Siebels and Tony Fagenson from high school hallways to the rocker lifestyle.
