The Killers have extended its US outing this summer and fall, tacking on another 11 dates to a run that began in mid-April.
The Las Vegas-based alt-rockers will return to the road following a three-month hiatus for an Aug. 8 performance in Elizabeth, IN. The trek continues with a swing along the East Coast, followed by two Canadian dates: Sept. 5 in Montreal and Sept. 6 in Toronto. The band finishes up in the western part of the US with a final appearance slated for Sept. 28 in Phoenix.
The Killers released "
Day & Age," the group's third album and follow-up to 2006's "
Sam's Town," last November.
"I think it sounds, to me, like a cross between 'Hot Fuss' and 'Sam's Town," guitarist Dave Keuning explained in a February interview with LiveDaily. "But a little bit more refined and mature, being four years after 'Hot Fuss.' We've gotten better at making music, hopefully."
In between the two most recent studio efforts, the band also unveiled "Sawdust," a collection of studio outtakes and b-sides, in November 2007. That record, which peaked at No. 12 on The Billboard 200, spawned two singles - "Shadowplay" and "Tranquilize" featuring Lou Reed - that charted in the UK and Canada.
