With a handful of early August shows under their belts, The Misfits will kick off an expanded fall run in October after a six-week hiatus. The veteran rockers, currently finishing a week-long trek through Mexico, will return to the road for an Oct. 3 performance in Tucson, AZ, before heading to the East Coast for a slew of club shows through the end of that month. The 34-date outing crisscrosses the nation, finishing back on the eastern seaboard with a Dec. 12 show in Norfolk, VA. The horror-punk outfit, which originally formed in 1977 and disbanded in 1983, was resurrected in the late '90s by founding member Jerry Only - the only remaining original member. Only, along with guitarist Dez Cadena and drummer Marky Ramone, released a covers album titled "Project 1950" in 2003. Two years later, Robo (Roberto Valverde) replaced Ramone as drummer. Rumor has it the trio has plans to release a new album in the near future, though no official announcement has been made. "It's been over 30 years and 30 years from now, people will still be playing our albums because we will never water down what we do," Only said in a message posted at the band's website. "We plan to continue as always to eclipse the past, block the sun and drag humanity by the throat into a world of darkness filled with ghouls, goblins and creatures of the night, where we are king." Thanks for the reoprt to Livedaily.com.
