The Offspring, At The Drive-In, Refused Plan To Tour Together

The Offspring, At The Drive-In and Refused are rumoured to be teaming up for a spring/summer tour. The rumour comes from a The Mars Volta message board where a "leaked" advertisement was posted. The tour will likely take place in Europe, as The Offspring and Refused both have a string of festival dates there this coming summer.

At the Drive-In and Refused were recently announced as the latest additions of the Coachella Festival, which takes place Indio, California this April. Refused will play the Friday shows (April 13th and April 20th), while At The Drive-In will play the Sunday shows (April 15th and April 22nd). Other than Coachella, Refused will play a string of European festival shows, including Belgium's Groezrock and Sweden's Way Out West. At The Drive-In currently have no other shows scheduled.

The Offspring have been busy working on a new album to be released this spring/summer and announced nearly two weeks ago that they are in the middle of finishing it. The band began recording the record last October with producer Bob Rock, who produced their most recent studio album "Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace" (2008). It will also mark their first-ever release with Pete Parada, who has been The Offspring's drummer since 2007.

In order to promote their new record, The Offspring will be playing this year's edition of the German festivals Rock Am Park and Rock Am Ring festivals and have a European tour in the works. Prior to that, they will headline the PunkSpring Festival in Japan, on March 31, 2012 in Tokyo and on April 1, 2012, in Osaka, with Sum 41, New Found Glory, Suicidal Tendencies and All Time Low.

Refused released their last album "The Shape Of Punk To Come" in 1998, while At The Drive-In last released "Relationship Of Command". Despite playing a number of shows, both bands currently have no plans to record new material.
