The Offspring To Tour Australia

As we continue to wait for news on the follow up to 2003's "Splinter", The Offspring have announced a tour of Australia alongside Incubus and Social Distortion.

The yet-to-be-titled new record is expected in 2008 via Columbia Records. It will be the band's first studio album recorded with drummer Josh Freese (The Vandals, Devo, Guns N' Roses, Suicidal Tendencies) though the band's touring lineup will feature Pete Parada.

Tour dates are as follows:

02/23 - Soundwave Festival - Brisbane, Australia
02/24 - Soundwave Festival - Sydney, New South Wales
02/29 - Soundwave Festival - Melbourne, Australia
03/01 - Soundwave Festival - Adelaide, Australia
03/03 - Soundwave Festival - Perth, Australia

Yes Josh did record on Splinter, you can read the liner notes if you want verification. Ultimate-Guitar is just misinformed. Atom never recorded anything with The Offspring.

Punknews.org is actually misinformed too. Everytime I write a news article about The Offspring on that website, one of the modertators who accepts it claims that the new album would actually be their first with Josh Freese.

I'm sick of these guys not having a complete lineup. But their new album will be ballistic, nonetheless. I'd love to see these guys live.
