The Who Plan 2010 Tour

Rockers The Who are to tour again in 2010.

Fans feared frontman Roger Daltrey's upcoming solo shows could spell the end of the band - but he insists he's simply working on his live singing voice for big concerts with bandmate Pete Townshend next year.

In a chat on the group's official website, Daltrey insists he "can't take a year off" because he won't be able to keep his rock rasp in top form.

He says, "We're doing something next year... I have to be in tip top form and the only way to go out and do that is to go out and sing. So, I got a band together with Simon Townshend, and we'll just go out and play some of my own stuff.

"I'll do a few Who tracks, but I'll mostly play my own stuff... I'll do, probably, 25 per cent of it Who songs; I don't know. I've played a lot of my solo stuff and there are b**ody great songs there and they'll be great on stage. The way I will do Who songs will be the way I would have if I had done them on my own."

I saw them when they went to Winnipeg in 2006. It was a great concert, but I'm not sure that I'd go see them again.

and their drummers obviously not in the shape he once was at his age now.

YES! i've always felt gutted how i was born after the '70s thus missing out on The Who and other great bands, (and the whole Punk Scene), but now i will finally have a chance to see The Who live!! :O also, this obviously isn't gunna be as good as the Who back in the '70s, because he said he's only doing %25 songs by The Who

The drummer, keith moon, died in 1978. Zak Starkey (ringo starr's son) is currently their drummer, for live performances at least. So, from the original lineup, only Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey remain.

That is for roger daltrey's solo tour. The lead vocalist of The Who is touring into 2009 to keep his voice in shape for the 2010 pending Who tour, which will be amazing and I will go to.

The Who have some of the best musicians in the world. Roger is my favorite singer above Jim Morrison and Freddie Mercury. John Entwistle is one of my favorite bassists (long live his Stratus Buzzard). Keith Moon is my second favorite drummer behind Pete de Freitas (note that if I didn't hear of Pete before, Keith would be my favorite). As for Pete Townshend, Heaven & Hell from Live At Leeds says it all right there.

So sad the best rhythm second ever to exist is dead. It's just not the same. Those bass solos John does are beyond unbeleivable. Both Keith and John died like rockstars (Keith died of a drug overdose, John died in a hotel room with a cocaine overdose with a stripper). God, I wonder how Roger and pete are going to go out?

nah it's Ringo Starr (aka Richard Starkey)'s son Zack Starkey. Keith was a good friend of Ringo's, so Zack was taught to play drums by his 'uncle' Keith

I saw a video of one of their recent tours and I can't help but be surpirised how many people are actually excited to see them, especially after seeing them once before in this condition. They are not a very good live band, especially after losing the two great musicians they had. Roger Daltrey is not a very good live singer.
