Tool Tinkers With Tour Schedule

Tool has nailed down the details for a couple of new shows that will take place during the group's upcoming summer tour, which gets underway next month.

New to the prog-metal veterans' schedule is the tour's first foray into Canada (Aug. 5 in Toronto), and an Aug. 7 engagement in Cincinnati. Those two dates bring the band's current schedule (shown below) to a total of 13 stops, including an Aug. 8 performance at Chicago's Lollapalooza festival.

Tool continues to support its most recent album, "10,000 Days," which surfaced in the spring of 2006, debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 and earned the group two Grammy nominations. Rumors of an impending fifth studio album are swirling, though no confirmed information has been released.

In addition to prepping for his band's imminent tour, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan is tackling a promotional tour to hype wine produced by his Arizona-based Stronghold Vineyards, which he co-founded in 2007. The singer/winemaker has a series of wine signings lined up this month, details for which are posted at Stronghold Vineyards' website.

"It's not a side project," Keenan said of his foray into the wine industry during an interview with LiveDaily last summer. "This is my future. I'm not The Rolling Stones. I'm not going to tour forever. It's my legacy."

It will be a sad day when Tool stops making music and touring....these guys are hands down the greatest live band of our current time - a modern day Pink Floyd if you will.....and it sounds like MJK is becomming more interested in his wine then his music. I just hope their next album isnt their last, these guys are just too good to call it quits yet.

I live in Jersey, and it's 90 dollars for All Points West...I'd like to know if there's gonna be another show here or at least somewhere over the bridge in NY before shelling out the money for a standing, outdoor (I believe) huge concert with a lot of bands I do not like. False. I saw them 3 times in one year exactly. I saw them in Kansas City on May 15th, 2006, then sometime in October in KC again, then on May 15th, 2007 I saw them a third time in Wichita, KS. What part of the Midwest do you want them to come to? Des Moines? Tulsa?

i hope i can go see them at lollapolooza. and ive had the wine before and it wasnt very good, it was really bitter. but that might have been because it was the cheapest bottle he makes

I tried one of the cheaper bottles and I thought the same. I have one of his expensive bottles (Nagual Del Sensei 2005) that I haven't popped open yet. I'm curious what that will taste like but I'm reluctant to open it because it's signed. I decided I'll open it to celebrate their next album... whenever that comes out.
