Currently on the road with the Warped Tour, the Transplants are planning a co-headlining excursion with Pennywise. Although things are still being finalized, the trek will likely begin in November and run through December, hitting such cities as Los Angeles, New York, Boston, San Francisco and San Diego.
Transplants drummer
Travis Barker (best known for his work in Blink-182) is excited that he and bandmates
Rob Aston and
Tim Armstrong (Rancid) will be sharing the stage with a group he's long admired. "To be out there with a band like
Pennywise ? who I grew up listening to and admire very much ? is really exciting," Barker says. "But it's also exciting to finally get out there as the
Transplants. When the last album came out, I had no time to do a big tour, because it was right back into
Blink world. But this time out, we're gonna make it up to our fans. Transplants and Pennywise, it's a perfect match."
Speaking of the Transplants' latest album, "Haunted Cities," they're getting ready to issue a "chopped-and-screwed" remix version of the disc, as well as a new single, "What I Can't Describe." Barker says, "Man, our chopped-and-screwed album is coming out soon, we've got this tour with Pennywise, everything's working on all cylinders. Everything's coming along just great. It's all real and good. There's no (BS)."
Meanwhile, Pennywise will be among the artists playing at the X Games, set for Aug. 4 -7 at the Staples Center and Home Depot Center in L.A. Other performers include Death by Stereo, the Dead Kennedys, Bif Naked and DJ Z-Trip.
