Van Halen To Reunite?

According to Australian website MelodicRock.com, the mighty Van Halen are set to reunite with complete lineup for a full tour in 2007.

Negotiations are currently underway to re-unite Van Halen with their original frontman for a tour in 2007 that will take in Amercia and possibly other territories. Negotiations between all parties have been underway for some time, trying to put together a big 2007 re-union tour, according to the site.

However, there will be no new material to go with the tour so the tour will only feature classic Van Halen songs. There is no plans for a new compilation or a new studio album -- just the tour.

Van Halen last toured in 2004 with Sammy Hagar, but the tour ended on a sour note and Hagar has not talked to Eddie Van Halen since.

BEST NEWS OF THE YEAR. i didnt go to the sammy hagar one because it was with sammy hagar but this one i am going to. Maybe Shinedown will open for them again that way it will be my two favorite bands.

Hmm. This reeks of "lets line our pockets", but if it actually goes down, cool! I also heard the last show in San Jose kinda sucked. Supposedly Eddie (who claimed at the time to be sober and loving life) was totally wasted and depressed, and started crying on stage. I also heard that Michael Anthony would've kicked his ass if Sammy hadn't stepped between them.

Now without Sammy, things'll be that much more interesting. If Eddie and Dave don't suffer a clash of egos by the end of the tour, THEN I'll be impressed.

Van Halen had a good run, and alot of good music from both eras, but I think they're starting to fade, mainly due to Eddie's problems.

kick ass... i heard Eddie was to big of a drunk to tour again.. perhaps he's gotten his shit together recently..

when i saw them in hamilton on the 04 tour... like i thought Eddie was waisted, but i knew somebody sitting in the golden ring, and at one point eddie passed around his drink and it was like lemon juice. not a beer like it apeared.. so i dunno, he basically layed down and played a 20 minutes mind blowing solo.. so drunk or not it kicked ass... and with Roth 100X more kick ass.

You're right. Well, new people do, but the likes of Metallica, this tour... people you want to see as you know they'll not be touring much longer.... always skip us. Apart from "Guns N Roses". What a farce. I paid near enough £40 for that ticket and they only came on at 10, and Axl was on for all of half an hour. The rest of the time was spent costume changing and having the guitarists play jazz chord wank for several minutes. But I digress.... This can only be good news about the VH reunion.

i think it's amazing that they're not making new songs. classic bands trying to make new material is really hard and rarely successful. but for a tour, i'm definitely gonna see them if DLR and EVH are back on stage together

Anthony is currently touring with Hagar, And I'm perfectly OK with having three Van Halens on stage. Michael Anthony is not a great bassist. He doesn't stand out remotely in the world of bassists. Yes, I'd rather have him there, but Wolfgang is fine with me.

DLR is dreadful!!! Hagar is the only singer worthy of hearing righ now. Check out his new album, in fact check out all his albums, quality songs... EVH was good in his day, he should've stopped after 'Beat it' though, if you want quality guitar playing check out Satch, Moore, Beck etc.

Van Hagar would be worth a ticket, but Sam's having far too much fun with the Waborita's to do that!
