VNV Nation Announce Tour

artist: vnv nation date: 05/03/2005 category: upcoming tours

VNV Nation scheduled to rock North America in May and June with their new “Formation Tour 2005,” entering an entirely new phase for the alternative rock electronic band. Label mates Imperative Reaction and noise favorite Soman to support.

To further enhance VNV Nation's live shows, two new live members have been added. Joining Ronan Harris and Mark Jackson onstage will be Vasi Vallis from the underground cult favorite NamNamBulu, and Kolja Trelle from the supporting act Soman. As well as the old favorites, there will be many new songs to play from the most recent album Matter + Form, released in April 12, 2005 on Metropolis Records. The band will feature an entirely new stage production not yet seen by their North American fans. VNV Nation’s early 2005 mini tour sold out venues in seven major markets across the United States.

Matter + Form, which is produced by renowned German producer Gerrit Frerichs (aka Humate) and VNV Nation’s Ronan Harris, features an amazing variety in tone and sound, and is already being hailed by critics as VNV Nations most comprehensive album to date. It includes an array of music from raw, punchy tracks like “Chrome” and “Entropy” to more ethereal, soulful sounds like “Endless Skies” and “Homeward”.

With this album VNV Nation has moved into new electronic territories while still focusing and retaining the energy and emotion that have become the hallmarks of the VNV Nation sound. When six snippets from Matter + Form were made available on the Internet recently, it resulted in 20,000 downloads in the first week alone.

The Irish/English duo “VNV Nation” has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, emerging as one of the leading powerhouse performers in the alternative rock electronic, industrial scene. Their unique blend of contemporary electronic styles, thematic lyrics and inspiring emotive vocals ranges from hard-hitting electronic beats with industrial and trance elements to haunting, melancholic ballads and symphonic orchestrations. VNV Nation has won incredible acclaim for their energetic live shows and through this and their music, have gained a fanatical following worldwide. Consistently topped the German Alternative charts in the last five years, VNV Nation’s last album reached #26 in the German Album Charts and their last release, the Pastperfect DVD, reached #3 in the German Music VD Charts.
