Wolfmother have pulled out of the Download Festival. This is due to illness in the band.
They've been replaced on the main stage on June 11 – the first night, when AC/DC headline – by Killswitch Engage.
The message on the Download Festival website states:
"We've just had a message from the team at the Wolfmother camp, who have been in touch with us to tell us that with great reluctance the band are going to have to pull out of this year's Download Festival.
"
One of the band is unfortunately sick, and won't be able to fly out to Donington for their performance on Friday June 11th.
"Whist we're all absolutely gutted about this, the good news is that we've had a word with the mighty Killswitch Engage, who have confirmed that they will step in to fill Wolfmother's slot on the line up!
"The metalcore masters from Massachusetts played a similar slot on the Main Stage at Download last year, and as anyone who was lucky enough to see them will tell you, played a ferociously brutal set.
"We wish Wolfmother a speedy recovery - they will be sorely missed this year. But we can't think of any replacement better than the incredible Killswitch, and send our thanks to the band for stepping in at the 11th hour."
Lot of people must be quite happy with this change though!
