Aerosmith Wants Who, Van Halen Guitar Hero

Aerosmith has released their new creation Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, and word on the street is that the next band-centric game will be Guitar Hero: Metallica.

So who would Aerosmith deem worthy to have their own Guitar Hero game?

Aerosmith announced the release of the game at the Hard Rock Cafe last Friday, June 27 with a press conference for fans and press. The band is currently recording their new album, which the band hopes to complete by the end of the year.

The Who and Van Halen would be suprisingly good to do, Van Halen especially...but I don't think there have been any VH songs in GH. It would be sweet if they covered all THREE eras of the band too. I think the Who would work better in Rock Band tho.

I use to really like guitar hero. I loved how they re-recorded all the tracks so when you played it felt like a live experience. Now I hate it, they just use the master tracks and its not as fun, you're just playing along with the song. It's like "we're gonna be lazy but give us your money anyway." And now that they use masters expect a guitar hero version of every band thats ever existed.

A lotta people hate the cover tracks because they arent the orginials. i could go either way. sometimes the vocals on the redone tracks suck, so i like the masters.

Why are they releasing separate band Guitar Hero..? Just for the money ofc! Everything is about money! None in the Neversoft studio might like Metallica, but it sells, right? That'll give them a higher salary. In the end, they will put their money on something like Tokio Hotel and FAIL, big times. (Y) I think they should speed the GH:WT instead of releasing crappy GH III copies with other songs. You can make YOUR OWN songs on GH:WT, why waste money?

No Van Halen songs that were the original version at least, GH2 had You Really Got Me, however they shouldnt have even bothered putting it in because they didnt have eruption at the beginning of it.

I'm mostly over the whole Guitar Hero thing. After playing Rock Band, the experience is just so more full and party friendly with all the instruments involved, and the capability for a song's value to be increased makes every song a possible favorite to someone in the band. For example, in Guitar Hero 3, very few people want to play Hit Me With Your Best Shot because it's one of the first set list songs, and it's probably the easiest. There's very little challenge. If the same song were on Rock Band, there would be the vocals, bass, and drums to consider for difficulty and fun level too.

The solo aspect for me is just a dead end in my opinion.

I enjoy Singstar more than Guitar Hero. I like a lot of classic rock, but good God, half of those songs are so ****ing played out on the radio that it's just annoying. I'd rather play Singstar. I'd take singing 99 Red Balloons on Singstar over playing EDDIE VAN HALEEEEEN on Guitar Hero any day.

Okay, so supposedly in GH:WT you can make your own songs, so if you want intense solos you can have them and basically you have everything you'll ever need. I used to hate guitar hero, stupid plastic guitars I thought. But I played rock band at a friends house and it was so awesome I bought gh3. It has nothing to do with guitar playing, but it's just so much fun. If you're a gamer who likes rock music, you'll like it, if you're a rocker who likes gaming, you'll like it, but if your just a rocker or a gamer or non, you'll hate it.

I completely agree. I like Guitar Hero and I'm pretty good at it, but I could literally spend like two hours playing one note and just putting different effects on it on the real guitar. I've done it before. Metallica may be one of my favorite bands ever, but a whole game with mostly them could get out of hand fast. I want more lesser known bands. It's how I figured out about Muse, for better or for worse. And that Brian Kahanek guy. He's real sweet.

I love the Who s much but they really haven't captured what they're about yet. On Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock they chose "The Seeker". A good song, but not what The Who is about. On Rock Band, they chose "Won't Get Fooled Again." Another great song, unfortunately overplayed. And so a lot of people I know, hate to perform that song on Rock Band also because its so long. I love the Who but they should choose a great song beforehand.

I stopped playin GH the moment I tried Rock Band. The problem with GH now is that if it sees an idea it will saturate it until it becomes so overdone that it's not fun any more. GH1&2 were so awesome, but GH3 just felt like, "a group of capitalist fat cats who were looking some easy money," (Humphree Applebee, Yes Minister). Activison had that group aspect to it, and it some odd way they felt like a real band; a small group of people doing what they love doing. It reminds me of how metallica was back in the MOP era. They weren't becoming rich or bloated by their sucess, they just kept releasing new albums. Then when Black Album came out, MEtallica became so commercial and popular that every poser thought he was cool and listened to metal by listening to Enter Sandman. NOw the same thing has happened with TTFAF. When I go to my friends houses, they always ask me to play that song on expert (and I usually do and get about 94% on it). I knnew that song two years ago before it was in GH3, and I didn't think it was that bad. Now I can't stand hearing it's name all because of GH3. Rock Band is not only a better game with better gameplay (BWT) character customization, and DLC, but HARmonix stayed true to the one thing that matters in a game, the people who buy it. They realease new songs every month that are varied and fun to play. Meanwhile GH3 releases crappy songs that are not only more expensive than rock band and worse to play, but also the popular songs from a band, and do this about once a month, or usually less. Thank you Harmonix, for staying true to us.

wow heres an idea rather then basing the game around one specific band like aerosmith and metallica. why not have a game that revolves around two rival bands together. For example make a Guitar Hero: The Thrash Years(Metallica and Megadeth) and from there you get to choose which band you would like to play as and watch how the band went from a basic garage band to the thrash titans they are today. Have the game work like this rather then having characters available from the start. You have to choose between James Hetfield and Dave Mustaine. If you choose hetfield you start out auditioning other guitarists if you choose Dave, it starts out with dave seeing a flyer on the wall that says, "Metallica looking for guitarist" and from there you get to play a tutorial that involves dave auditioning from the band. now of course the band eventually splits and from there you have to choose based on which character you wanna play as which band you proceed the story with. Eventually kirk hammet joins Metallica and becomes a playable character and for Megadeth theres chris poland and eventually marty friedman and whatnot. That in my opinion would be a guitar hero game WORTH going nuts about. Not ****ing aerosmith and guns n roses, wtf those guys suck lol.

Cornell's vocals would be hard to pull off.
Thayil's guitar playing is unique and is good for guitar hero.
Cameron's drumming skills are sick and he's probably one of the best drummers out there today.

yeah The Who would probably only be worth it with drums and vocals. their guitar parts may not have enough leads for the game. I'm sure bass would be great to play though.

I never understood the obsession with Guitar Hero, learn to play the real thing, or a bass, or keyboards. That's much more rewarding when you finally nail a Rush or Who song for real. South Park were right on the mark when they spoofed the hell out of Guitar Hero.

Personally I think they should make a progressive rock version where they have a separate controller for each of the different instruments you'll hear on a rush song, except the trick is that you have to play them all at the same time like Geddy Lee does

A lotta people hate the cover tracks because they arent the orginials. i could go either way. sometimes the vocals on the redone tracks suck, so i like the masters.

If you think about it, playing the game the way its supposed to be, youre technically playing cover songs in the first place, since the original band isnt on stage in the game. And also, re-recording the tracks gives the game better quality and, like you said, made the game feel somewhat like a live experience. Now that theyre just using master tracks, it shows they arent doing crap to produce the game, so they can make more games faster. Many people already know ways to map out the buttons for their own custom songs already, so its like theyre selling us something we could have easily done alone. Im sure its not THAT easy, but...
