Alice Cooper Set To Release Along Came A Spider

Legendary Heavy Metal rocker Alice Cooper is set to release his first album since 2005's "Dirty Diamonds" and it will be his 25th studio album of his illustrious career. The album, titled "Along Came A Spider" features a love story built around a serial killer.

We caught up with Alice Cooper to get his thoughts on the upcoming album.

"The new album, 'Along Came a Spider' it's a modern day story about a serial killer that thinks he's a spider. At least he pictures himself as that. So he leaves his victims wrapped in silk and he only takes one leg because he needs eight legs to build this spider. It's all very psychological but the music is absolutely Alice all the way. I just listened to the mixes before I got here and I'm really happy with them. And of course it's a love story. He falls in love with one of his victims and he can't kill her."

"Along Came A Spider" had originally been set for release in 2007, but problems with producer scheduling and a busy touring schedule caused it to be delayed a year. Slash also lends his talents on the song "Vengeance Is Mine" and album is slated to be released July 29th.

Sweet! You can always count on Alice putting out a nice album. Sounds like a nice story to it too, for a second there it seemed more like a summery to a book xD

The real news is that he's getting back on the road. I've seen him live twice and he's a straight up entertainer, two of the best shows I've been lucky enough to see.

When you think about the Tommy concept, or the Ziggy Stardust concept for that matter, and how ridiculous they sound, and then hear those albums and how magnificent they are. You can't predict how it will turn out just by a brief verbal synopsis.

Best performance of all the artists, best performance I've ever seen actually. I just hope if he comes again that he will come to Auckland. Driving 16 hours (there and back) for a concert is not fun.
