Atreyu Looking To Shred Their Faces On Projekt Revolution

Atreyu are currently enjoying tremendous success with the release of their latest album "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" and now the band will look to ride that momentum on the upcoming Projekt Revolution Tour. Projekt Revolution, which is Linkin Park's brain child returned in 2007 after taking a few years off and 2008's lineup certainly will be bringing a wealth of great music to their fans across North America. Besides Linkin Park and Atreyu, this years lineup will feature sets from The Bravery, Ashes Divide, Chris Cornell as well as 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Street Drum Corps and Armor for Sleep on the Revolution Stage.

We caught up with Alex Varkatzas of Atreyu to get his thoughts on being a part of the legendary lineup in 2008 and what fans can expect from the band.

"We're touring with legendary dudes and I don't know, it's awesome. We're going to try to shred our faces everyday and watch amazing bands and do that every single day and in the end sit back and go 'Dude, what happened? That was gravy!' And that's the way it should be."

Projekt Revolution North American dates start July 16th in Mansfield, MA and extend until August 24th in Woodlands, Texas.

Projekt Revolution does really suck this year, not that atreyu suck though, they're not that bad. it wouldn't kill them to put in some better punk bands, and even more nu metal. like maybe AFI, good charlotte, and maybe nu-ish metal, like papa roach or something.

anyways i think if they wanted to they could play some good concerts. idk what they mean by legendary guys though, besides linkin park.

Uh, I'm pretty sure the only one in the band who wears eyeliner now is the drummer. I may be wrong, though.

When i saw them at taste of chaos they did awesome! Dan Jacobs CAN shred. You can say he cant when you can play everyone of his songs perfect! They put on an awesome concert. I met them too. They're pretty cool. Don't dis them!

And Atreyu was never screamo... Taking back Sunday is screamo. I think the term you're looking for is "metalcore" (I didn't invent it...). Their newest album is different, yes, but personally I think it's amazing (and yes I do own "The Curse").

I don't like Lead Sails, Paper Anchor much. They changed their sound too much, a lot of the songs sound the same, and he doesn't scream enough anymore. Oh well. PR is nowhere near the best tour of the year. Gigantour and Rockstar Energy Mayhem. And a lot of people would argue Ozzfest, but I hate Metallica.

I like there old stuff, the new stuff is okay-ish I suppose.

Saw them earlier this year, they were pretty good actually, although the guitars weren't loud enough. (soundtechs fault)

i saw them at that tour too and he can't shred....he can use amatuer hour two handed tapping. and god is that drummer an awful singer live.....they should just stick with the regular singer
