Hardcore rock, as annoying as it is sometimes, can't be ignored anymore. Honestly there's a sort of stigma. People are really getting on board with bands like Bullet for my Valentine lately, but other bands get shunned for their style or being "emo". Bands like Atreyu are getting big now after starting as as hxc/metal, and now, albeit a sort of selling out, they make catchier tunes and get on the radio. Same goes for Chiodos, and they'll be around now, so people need to know about them, whether they like the band or not.

And as for Fall of Troy and Protest the Hero...effing awesome and totally different from anything else. Chiodos is not nearly as epic, but they are lucky to be surrounded by such great talent.

This is true. You can't ignore hardcore and "post-hardcore" anymore. I've always been a fan, and it's cool that it's getting noticed now, but at the same time, I'd rather it not be mainstreamed.

Chiodos are by far one of the best newer bands out there and id kill to see them live!

exactly..every time i see a band release an album that gets a whole lot of mainstream attention (coheeds new one come to mind) i get nervous that they'll start to become corrupted or something by the success and lose some of what made them great in the first place...

I kno right. there are lots of bands out there like that who get corrupted and start to change their image for the media or whatever. But its the bands that just stick to what they're known for that are the ones that rock.

zartists.net :
I saw them live last weekend at SXSW, They started out strong on the first song, then went into a terrible acoustic duet with the lead singer and his boyfriend. After that they went back to the harder songs.

They are talented musically, but they need to tone down the keyboards...a lot, and ditch their awful singer, then they might have something.

This album is excellent IMO. I didn't like their old stuff, but I have this album and it seems so much more well written. Having more orchestral/piano stuff helped it too.

i love Chiodos. their first cd was great, but this one is AMAZING!!! i dont care if all you other people think it sucks. its an amazing cd. get over the fact that they changed a little.

its great that theyre getting noticed, but still....i dont want them so sell out and become some other lame mainstream band. that would suck so bad.

Yes and no to that. I agree with you because I don't want the bands to lighten up too much. Now, having a few radio hooks on your record isn't a bad thing, we all love those catchy songs. But when they really change, that becomes a problem. The part I disagree is I think that as long as a band remains true blue to what they were all along, then there is nothing wrong with them going mainstream, as in really popular. Everyone talks about how they hate seeing their favorite band get huge. Why? What's wrong with seeing the band you support get the credit they deserve, to have that hard work pay off.

As for Chiodos, I like Bone Palace Ballet. It's a little more appealing now that the singer is on pitch.

Well, i'm not sure if i like Chiodos or not anymore. i might have completely overplayed their albums. :S

i've seen them live twice, each time was spectacular. i would go a third. their albums just dont seem to capture it as well.

I think its sort of a pride thing...like "Oh well i liked this band before everyone else, so im a true fan"

Ive done it a couple times, but while i agree the band should get all the success cuz they deserve it, but theres a small part of you that hopes that they dont get really really big.

Is this album old news? It'd been out quite awhile. What is this article even about? An album that's been out for a long time doing well? I thought it was generally known that Chiodos is doing well, and therefore they're selling a reflective number of albums. Sweet?

Ok first off. Why talk crap about this band? The singer Craig Owens is very cool, cuz he tries to get a new voice style-wise. And Jason Hale. Hes like my fav. guitarsist around. So quit talking crap about this band. Please!!!
