Bullet For My Valentine Beef With Rob Zombie?

artist: bullet for my valentine date: 05/05/2008 category: video news

Even though it's in the past, we caught up with Welsh Metal core band, Bullet for My Valentine to get their thoughts on being kicked off Rob Zombie's tour because they were standing up for their beliefs. Bullet for My Valentine, whose latest album 'Scream Aim Fire' debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart, where so unhappy on a United States tour opening for Rob Zombie that lead vocalist Matt Tuck posted comments on the bands message board about how they were being treated and why they felt disrespected. During the tour Tuck posted these comments about being an opening act.

Video clip :

"As for the merchandise, Zombie makes us price match him so, yup, it's f**kin $40 for a t-shirt, which is insane, I know. Greedy money-grabbing fucks. We're only allowed two pieces of merch, too, which sucks ass. Unfortunately, being first on on a tour like this sucks, but it's gotta be done. As I write this, I'm sitting on the f**kin' floor of the venue 'coz we don't have a dressing room again, 'coz f**kin Zombie takes them all for him, his band and crew. Basically, we are s**t to him." Once Rob Zombie's camp got wind of the posting the band was immediately kicked off the tour for expressing their views and opinions and standing up for their beliefs.

"We caught up with the band to get their thoughts on the spat with Zombie and why the band still wants to thank him."

Bullet For My Valentine Stand Up For Their Beliefs

"Well we stand for what we...we stand up for ourselves really and I guess he didn't like what we said. Whatever. It don't bother us. We got dropped from the tour but we joined the Guns N Roses tour, so it kind of worked out well for us you know. Yeah, kind of. Cheers Rob!"

So does lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Tuck feel any ill will about the Zombie situation looking back at it in hindsight?

Matt Tuck Still Sleeping Soundly After Zombie Tour

"No, I sleep soundly each night."

I respect Zombie, but after seeing him with Ozzy last year I have to agree- his shit is WAY overpriced (Ozzy's was too) but I guess that's how he pays for his over the top live performances. But forcing other bands to price gouge just so you don't look like a douche? Well, then you still look like a douche. Cmon Rob.

I always thought that Rob was a respectful guy, but after this, that's completely shit. You shouldn't get to treat someone that badly, especially if they're supporting you in a tour. FUCK YOU ZOMBIE!

don't like rob, but he's more well known of course he gets more merchandise and dresing rooms, although the matching prices thing sucks

Not that I wouldn't be pissed off if someone made me charge a certain price for my shit and didn't give me dressing rooms and whatnot, you don't talk shit about a guy you agreed to tour with and open for, especially a guy of Zombie's magnitude. He was playing music (better than yours) when you were still sucking on your mom's tit, BFMV.

Also, UG, just to let you know, the basis of the word news is new.

Rob Zombie is a ****ing failure who makes every movie into some bloodshed porno bullshit. He might as well stay out of music too because he's past his prime in that area as well. So long Rob Zombie.

I can believe that Zombie has a bulls**t tour because hows the dude making money beside making s****y ass movies (like the other dude said) but BFMV doesn't need to take s**t after Scream,Aim,Fire success they did when a profitable gain by joining the GzNRz tour cause you can tell theres something big about to go down with GzNRz after Velvet's Lead singer got kicked off which oddly was said on this site too UG RULES lol

That doesn't sound like standing up for your beliefs to me.. it sounds like whining to people who you know will agree with you and then getting in trouble when the big boys do find out you're talking bad about 'em. Which still doesn't make me admire Rob Zombie, but it doesn't make me admire BFMV either..

Smillzer :
I highly doubt its Rob himself going around telling BFMV to make sure that the prices match his. Its definitely either his manager or tour manager, or if he has, his merchandising team. So before you start slandering and crapping all over Rob, make sure you understand how a professional tour is run.

"Better" is opinion, and therefore subjective. I prefer BFMV's music over Rob Zombie's, there just isn't a comparison for me.

GUYS!!!

We really should wait to hear Zombie's version of events too, before you judge him.

And I personally am all on Zombie's side; after hearing BFMV's cover of "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" (which was so bad it was an insult to Cliff Burton) every member of BFMV should be taken outside and shot.

You really want someone to die because of a bad cover?
I doubt the covers you do are much better

Anyway, sucks for Bullet to be treated like that, but glad they're happy now

I'm gonna hafta take BFMV's side on this... even though, they might've overreacted just a little bit through that message. I definitely understand them getting pissed at Zombie and his crew, but I think they might've blown things a bit out of proportion. However, proportion doesn't make what happened right. So, BFMV on this one.

So they're the best out of all the bands that make you think of Metallica. Either way, you still want to hear Metallica when you're done listening to it :P

Rob Zombie may be a highly reconized musician, but he isn't all that. BFMV may be new, but there is a lot more talen in their music. It's varied, melodic, heavy and their vocalist can actually sing. They dont sound like a growling animal. Keep in my mind this is all opion based. Rob Zombie clearly lost what most musicians have starting of. The desire to make music that will be appreciated. Pointlessly overcharging for a shirt that probably took 3 dollars to make shows how much he actually cares about his fans. This all happend for a reason though. They got o tour with a way better band(GnR)

Yeah, I would have to say I've got Bullet's side on this one... I think they would have fit in better on the Zombie tour musically, but at least they got to tour with GNR. Well, the new GNR (I still can't believe Axl kept the name with only, what, one original member??? but thats a whole 'nother can of worms). Anyways, best of luck to Bullet and not as much to Zombie.
