Carlos Santana was on hand for the Seasons Of Hope Charity Gala earlier this month in New York City. The event featured a performance by Santana and was attended by National Football League stars Michael Strahan, Jason Taylor, hockey great Wayne Gretzky, and former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
The event was sponsored by
Samsung and it focused on each celebritys choice charity. For
Carlos that was the Milagro Foundation, and he talked about the event and helping childrens and youth charities around the San Francisco Bay area and the world.
Carlos Santana On The Situation In Milagro
"I believe that Samsung and Milagro is a win-win situation to help alleviate the separation between humans so that we can have more harmony and unity and joy, and especially trust. The more that we invest money in education, the more we will have choices. We can choose compassion and forgiveness rather than an eye for an eye."
The Seasons Of Hope event raised one-point-one million dollars for the respective charities. Santana is working with an old time friend, Marcelo Vieira, on his solo album Marcelo Vieira's Acoustic Sounds. That album should be in stores by the end of the year.
