Chris Cornell, singer songwriter for legendary bands Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave as well as being a solo artist, will spend his summer on the road with Linkin Park on their Projekt Revolution Tour. Chris Cornell, who is reportedly working in the studio with producer Timbaland on his upcoming album, will take some time away from the studio to get out on the road with his band. Cornell, who performs a set list which includes numerous hits like 'Outshined,' 'Black Hole Sun' and 'Hunger Strike' will also look to jump on stage with Chester Bennington and Linkin Park or any other band on Projekt Revolution if the opportunity presents itself.
We caught up with Chris Cornell to get his thoughts on discussing some songs to sing with Chester Bennington and if he's looking forward to sitting in with Linkin Park this Summer while on the road.
Chris Cornell On Breaking The Ice At Projekt Revolution
"Absolutely, either surprise or on purpose. Yeah, Chester and I discussed picking some songs and actually going up. Yeah, I'd be into that anytime anybody wants to do something with me or vice versa performing. I think that's what makes these types of tours work better. That's when you really take advantage of it is when you got a lot of bands together breaking the ice and nothing breaks the ice better than when you're onstage together in front of 20,000 people. It doesn't get any more intense than that. Once you've gone through that with someone you pretty much gonna be pals."
Chris Cornell and Linkin Park will be joined by The Bravery, Busta Rhymes and Ashes Divide on the main stage and Atreyu, 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights, Street Drum Corps and Armour for Sleep on The Revolution Stage. Projekt Revolution North American tour dates start July 16th in Mansfield, MA and extend until August 24th in Woodlands, Texas.

: I never cared for Linkin Park, and not going to go to the Projekt Revolution tour. However the fact that he's collaborating with others is a good sign that a reincarnation of Temple Of The Dog being possible.
By the way, he looks like Brandon Boyd from Incubus with that hair. :OPOSTED: 06/03/2008 - 11:06 am / quote |

: Well done Chris. Youi couldnt stoop any lower. You had an amazing band in Soundgarden which you trashed because of songwriting issues. You formed a pretty good superband in Audioslave, which again you trashed because you wanted more money, and now this. You had to pick those pussy rockers to write songs with. Are you desperate to sell records? And that too at your age and after all the great work with your name on them? What next, collaboration with jay z and snoop dog? No, he actually does blow. Linkin Park have a drummer, a guitarist, and a bassist for no reason other than that they need a drummer, a guitarist, and a bassist. Just because Delson struck oil with the riff to One Step Closer doesn't mean he's good, it just means he's lucky.

Agreed my friend. And if you started with nu metal from the begining and that was your genre of choice along with grunge like myself this couldn't be better. Oh and I LOVE audioslave too. Really Linkin Park aren't bad just because they don't live of guitar! Gosh that's absurd! They have good lyrics and overall music. You might not like it but if you listen to every single song they have made and say they are generic then you are just being an a**... Sure shadow of the day, what I've done or even numb and all those s***y songs with jay Z are pretty bad but songs like somewhere I belong, faint, don't stay, papercut, runaway, in between, among many others are very nice in their own way. Just my 2 cents though. Oh and I'm gonna see them on friday along with The Offspring and the single Muse show till next year... AHAH kick ass can't waitPOSTED: 06/03/2008 - 05:58 pm / quote |

id be puttin a heart into my shows if i was making az much[undeservingly] money they make.
then again its not very hard to conform to the norm and make a style even more poppy and commercialized so i guess they have a lot of extra energy to put into their live with their obvious lack of talent and originality shows their prolly not puttin that energy into practicin or tryin to doin something different....
its because of bands like linkin park that killed Nu-metal in the first place.POSTED: 06/03/2008 - 06:52 pm / quote |

Kurt Cobain's ashes have apparently been stolen.
According to the News Of The World, the Nirvana frontman's remains – the location of which has previously been kept secret – were taken from the Los Angeles home of his widow Courtney Love.
The ashes were said to have been kept in a "pink teddy bear-shaped bag along with a lock of his hair" and were taken with some jewellery and clothes.
Love is quoted by the paper as saying: "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do."
Some of the Nirvana frontman's ashes were previously scattered near his home in Washington State and some at a New York Buddhist temple, with his widow retaining the rest.
She added: "They were all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again." POSTED: 06/03/2008 - 07:40 pm / quote |

All of those who think Chester is a good singer need to go to hell. lmao
And all of those who think Cornell is weak now are right. Go listen to Badmotorfinger. That had to be one of the most powerful and true rock albums ever released.
But seriously. That autotune thing's right. Heard that Chester dude back up Cornell on Hunger Strike and he did terrible. He was straining and having difficulty with probably the easiest of notes. lmaoPOSTED: 09/07/2008 - 05:03 pm / quote |
