Cradle Of Filth released their new effort, Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder, on Tuesday October 28, and it's a concept album based on the life of serial killer Gilles De Rais.
Cradle Of Filth mastermind Dani Filth said that in many ways it was one of the most engaging albums he's ever worked on.
"
I don't know it was quite an easy - well I don't want to say easy, nothing is ever easy for us - but everything was very much planned because it's a concept album as well. Everything has to fit into its category. We have to have a beginning and an end, and the artwork has to correlate to that. For once in our lives we were actually really professional about this. I remember being in the studio for three months, and I want out to the pub maybe once...and that was just to get a meal. It wasn't even to have fun."
Cradle Of Filth will return with its Black Metal to North America for a tour in support of the album starting January 15 at Starland Ballroom in New Jersey. Opening will be Satyricon and Septic Flesh.
