Disturbed Set Active Rock Record

Disturbed recently wrapped up their stint on the Mayhem Festival, and it was their first tour in support of the new album, Indestructible. Their single "Inside The Fire" recently broke Active Rock radios record for 14 weeks at Number One.

Guitarist Dan Donegan talked about the song.

"I just think that it was one of those songs that kind of grabbed a lot of our friends that we would play it for early on. It kind of grabbed their attention. It was one of the more memorable tracks that you really couldn't get out of your head after you heard it for the first time. We thought it would be a nice lead-off track for us. And plus just the concept behind the song and the meaning that it had lyrically and how personal it was for David because it was a life experience for him. It's an important subject matter, and we wanted to come out strong with it making a statement."

With the song still going strong at both Active Rock and Alternative Rock, Disturbed has readied the albums title track, "Indestructible," which was the third most added at Active Rock this week.

The newest album wasn't that great sadly.

There are just too many songs that start, and you go "I've heard this one before" and skip it. I think they need to break their mould next time. Less cut and copy kind of songs.

I really like Inside The Fire though. It just seems to me that this was like the second CD of 10,000 Fists. And that got pretty mundane about halfway through.

These guys don't bring anything but weak, digital sounding riffs, a fake wall of Marshall stacks behind them, and a singer that tries to fake being all "crazy" and "mental" with his ridiculous posturing. This band was cut out and packaged for all the Disney channel Diet Metal fans. That's who I saw at the show pumping their out-of-rhythm fists for this band. A bunch of fourteen year old virgins and their mommies.

P.S. Oh by the way, Loser By 3 doors down is the longest charting #1 single not Inside The Fire, it stayed there for 21 weeks, thought Id tell ya that.

The only thing they bring is a weak ass show, with a fake stack of Marshalls behind them and digital, direct-line guitar that sounds like complete garbage. The singer's fake-assed posturing and trying to act all "crazy" and "mental" makes me laugh. The crowd was definitely into it... because when Disturbed was playing, it was all a bunch of 13-year-old virgin boys rocking out with their mommies. A bunch of Disneyland metal for weakasses and posers. Lame.

I know a lot of people say that their stuff sounds the same and I will admit that in "The Sickness" it did, but I think they've grown so much since then it's incredible.
I saw them at mayhem and they had an insane amount of energy. They don't rely on flashy lights to make them look good but show off everything they have through pure talent and everything that comes from them personally to give them awesome stage presence.
