Ha, those blonde streaks are class!

Dream Theater have gotta be one of the hardest working bands in the world right now. I can't believe the Chaos In Motion tour's only just finished, I caught them last October and they'd been going for a couple of months back then. Now they've got the Liquid Tension mini-tour. I so wish I lived in America for that reason alone.

Gotta say, I wasn't impressed with them when I saw them with Opeth.

I'm not too familiar with their music, but I don't like their sound at ALL. I dunno, I just couldn't get into it. And don't get me wrong, Petrucci is talented, but his solos suck balls. They don't even go with the song. Even on one slow song he just ripped into a crazy sweep picking solo right in the middle.

Just my opinion. Opeth was far better.

jordan rudess is very prog, if you check out rhythm of time (solo album) and in interviews MP and JP have said that they were more heavy, and rudess was more prog. anyway, how come they didnt go to europe this time? so dissapointed... last time they came to denmark was in 1994 i think

So, I take it that it's weird how I didn't find SC to be overly pop, at all. I found it ridiculously technical, and - ultimately - a brilliant summation of the band's entire career.

Just because it's progressive doesn't mean the pieces of the song shouldn't work with one another (like the aforementioned crazy-ass sweep picking solo in the middle of an otherwise slow song). Opeth's songs have like frigging 8 parts each, and they're all different, but they all flow. That's all I'm saying.

You have no idea what your talking about.
Although I wouldn't mind getting rid of James!

Theur most "pop" album is Octavarium, and it's still good (not amazing though like Scenes, Images or ToT)

And for that guy who said he couldn't handle the 20 min for a song, just get in a quiet place or driving at night and listen to the title track on Octavarium. Its mind blowing.
