uh... does that bother anyone else that it says "first album by the band featuring Phil Anselmo didn't hit stores until 1988" even though They were a band recording albums before Phil got there?! "Power Metal" anyone? (trashy album... dont waste your time...)

Anyways, it great Big Vin is back out again! Looking forward to some new tunes of him tearin his kit to pieces just the good old days!

why would that bother anyone? its true....they had 3 previous albums with Terry Glaze....then they did power metal in 88....so what are you yappin about? and its not a trashy album....its just 80s metal. I have all of them...the guitar work is still pretty good for a young dude like Dime was.

but I am THRILLED to see Vinnie back on the set! It's great to see him have the passion back.

yeah im glad he's playing again too. I couldnt picture losing him and dime at the same time. Vinnie should continue the legacy. He seemed much more happy in this interview then he has in a while. I hope Zakk Wylde's in his new band, because i know they're good friends now. I only pray that zakk doesnt sing though. Vinnie should get a supergroup going(minus the t.v. show) and actually play shows and sell cds.

VINNIE PAUL Joins Forces With MUDVAYNE, NOTHINGFACE Members In New Project
12 Aug 2006

Former PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott has teamed up with members of MUDVAYNE and NOTHINGFACE in a brand new project, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. The group has been writing and recording material in Dallas, Texas for what will eventually become its debut album, tentatively due in early 2007. A name has already been selected for the band, but has not yet been revealed, the sources said. The group's lineup is as follows:

Chad Gray (MUDVAYNE) - Vocals
Greg Tribbett (MUDVAYNE) - Guitar
Tom Maxwell (NOTHINGFACE) - Guitar
Jerry Montano (DANZIG, NOTHINGFACE) - Bass
Vinnie Paul Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) - Drums

A headlining tour is tentatively expected to take place before the end of the year, although this has yet to be officially confirmed.

In a June 2006 interview with the Fort Worth Weekly, Vinnie Paul spoke briefly about the new group, stating, "I have been working with different people, and I really can't tell you who they are right now because we're in the middle of everything. . . The more and more I go along, the more I miss playing, but it's all been part of the healing process, and time is truth. And if [the playing] I am [doing] right now becomes the real deal, then I will get back to it very soon."

It should be noted that the new project's existence will not affect the status of MUDVAYNE, who are expected to begin writing material for their fourth album later in the month.

Its the first record they released that phil was vocalist. Before then phil wasnt in the band, although pantera were still recording in ther glam rock days.
