Hinder's "Lips Of An Angel" won Song Of The Year at the BMI Awards, the annual awards ceremony held in Los Angeles by the songwriters organization. The song is off their album Extreme Behavior, and on the red carpet and during the acceptance speech, bassist Michael Rodden was living up to the band's name. The bassist was wild on the red carpet, and went up with the band to accept the award in his underwear.
Rodden was a little wild when we caught up with him, Brian Howes and singer Austin Winkler to talk about the new album.

[Producer Brian Howes] "This is Mike he'd the Kazoo player in the band." [Rodden] "I play the sh-t out of that Kazoo, I'm telling you." [Howes] "This record will have seven Kazoo solos. Seven. We're going to be the first band to have that many kazoo solos." [Rodden] "Vodka inspired Kazoo solos. It's awesome. I'm telling you right now." [record release?] "I don't know, September or so. We've only done one album in the past and it was awesome. [Winkler] "This one's bigger and better. The fans are gonna eat it up."
A more coherent Winkler talked about the BMI Award and how "Lips Of An Angel" almost didn't make it.

"Originally that was the case, but we had a nice sit-down. We had some tea and crumpets and talked about it and at the end of the day we decided to put it on the album. [On the BMI Award] We're very excited. It's an honor to get an award like this and acknowledged for the songwriting we've done for it to share the award with."
The band has been in Vancouver working on the follow-up to Extreme Behavior, which is slated for an early fall release. Other winners on the night included Three Days Grace, Evanescence, and Nickelback who collected three.
