Hoppus Reveals Plus 44 Details

Former Blink-182 members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, who recently split with his wife, have combined for the band Plus 44 (+44). The album is titled When Your Heart Stops Beating, and it will be out November 14. The outfit reunites two out of three Blink members, with Tom Delonge concentrating on his Angels And Airwaves project.

Barker had played in Delonge's sideband Boxcar Racer before re-teaming with Hoppus for Plus 44. Hoppus talked about the relationship he shares with the talented Barker.

"Oh, it's great. Yeah. Travis and I since Day 1 have always worked great together. He's introduced me to so many different ideas in music that I wouldn't have gotten introduced to before. Travis has the most schizophrenic tastes in music than anyone I have ever met. He'll come one day and say, 'You've got to check out this rock band,' and it'll be some way out metal rock band. And then the next day he'll say, 'Check out this hip-hop artist.' And the next day he'll come with something like Tatu, those two Russian singers, you know, and he'll love that. He always has really great tastes in music and he's always introducing me to stuff, so I think we work really well together, for sure."

The album is produced by Jerry Finn, and fans can finally check the band out on the Bamboozle Left festival on October 14 in California. A full itinerary has not been released at press time.

Neither Mark nor Tom ever could play their instruments very well... especially considering all the touring they've done - and neither are particularly musically creative - that's just Travis - but they both get amazing melodies, and that's all you need to make good songs and get multimillion album sales. I'm gonna get those tickets too hopefully and expect better than AVA, as Mark's music won't be so self-important

Shane Gallagher and Craig Fairbaugh. I think that are 2 pretty good guitarists. I will be at the show in Hamburg on 22nd September. Man, I can't wait!

I think it's sad how it all ended with Blink... and I think you cannot just blame Tom for the break-up. I will listen to the Plus 44 album, but I think I'll be disappointed as I was when listening to Box Car Racer, AVA and all the other "solo" stuff the guys wrote.
I guess they'll never again make such great songs like they did TOGETHER...

No. Plus-44 is the calling code for the UK. Mark and Travis both love London and created the name while there.

Hmmm Mark was always a decent bass player with a smooth melodic voice, and Travis is killer on drums, I think without Tom dragging them down with whiny vocals and power chords this might actually be a very viable listen.

The band was always a band together, then Tom wanted to have control and their manager sided with him and THATS why they split up.

This might not be as good as blink but hopefully it'll still be good.

I remember him coming out with all the "transplants is now my number one project" and all this shit after Blink finished - how far did that get? Now thats finished he's going for the next cash in with Mark, and the tragedy is, give it 3 months and these guys will be all over the place just based on the previous profile. No. Angeels and Airwaves was a pop-punk rehash of Joshua Tree-era U2. It's going to be hard for Plus 44 to beworse.

the thing with blink 182 is that in the towards the end of the "takeoff your pants and jacket" era and during the entire "untitled" era, tom began to screw up. on live sets, mark and travis played the song the right way, but tom was almost swallowing the mic (watch a live video and youll know what i mean) and trying to play improvised solos.
i think that was another reason why mark and travis hated tom, cause i know i would
