Jonas Brothers, Kid Rock Beat Out Staind

Staind will not be able to notch their fourth consecutive Number One album with The Illusion Of Progress. Not only did the Jonas Brothers album A Little Bit Longer hold the Number One slot, but Kid Rock's Rock And Roll Jesus slid into the Number Two slot, leaving label mate Staind at Number Three.

While some might think the Illusion Of Progress might refer to the music scene, singer Aaron Lewis actually shared that it was a phrase the band blurted out during writing of the album.

"Well, when it came out it seemed to be the perfect album title, but we were just goofing off, not doing what we were supposed to be doing. We were supposed to be working, and my producer said something about it. My reply was 'Yeah, it's kind of like the illusion of progress,' and it was kind of apparent that that was a really good name for the record."

Staind is set to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, August 28.

I am a tremendously open-minded person when it comes to music. I can openly say I enjoy Britney and Christina and Kanye aswell as Dimmu Borgir and Madrugada and Coltrane. It takes A LOT to take me to the point where I really can see no good in a band. Credibility means shit to me if the music is good. But the Jonas Brothers are one of maybe 5 (or even less) bands/artists that I truly despise. They have no originality, no skills, no integrity, and to top it off extremely horrid, whiney vocals that make MCR sound like Barry White in comparison. And all their songs sound like everything you've ever heard before in crappy TV movies that made you reach quickly for the remote.

I think its terrible when two performers with no talent whatsoever beat a band who actually has some talent and made a good album compared to the album they didn't even write themselves or really play on probably(in the case of jonas brothers) or an album where half of the songs he stole from other people(in the case of kid rock) without really acnowldging it.

While im not a big staind fan really, their new album is way better than the first two, and at least they wrote it and they have some talent.

It is really sad that we did have a SRV a few years ago with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, but that just isn't where music is now a days. I think the Jonas Brothers are being compared to the Beatles in terms of the fans going crazy for them. Remember, the Beatles had a very large young, female fanbase not a bunch of fans who judge a band solely on their musical abilities. i recently saw kid rock and lynyrd skynyrd in concert last weekend, and i was first surprised to see that kid rock was headlining... but after the show, he hands down had the better show of the two. while he can't compare to the guitar geniuses in skynyrd, he put on one of the best shows ive ever seen.

Fall Out Boy deserve to be where they are, they have done something different. When they came out, there sound was pretty original. Jonas Brothers however are typical pop rock, catchy, but nothing at all that stands out.
