Marilyn Manson and Twiggy Ramirez split during the early part of this decade, but now they've settled their difference and are reunited once again. Ramirez will join Manson on his Rape Of The World tour, and once again Jeordie White will use his created-for-Manson stage name.
In an interview conducted a few months back, in support of his Goon Moon project and album, White discussed the naming of the members of Manson. He used the same formula of picking a female icon and a serial killer. He talks about using ultra-thin model Twiggy.
Jeordie White On Choosing Twiggy For Marilyn Manson
"I had to come up with a female icon and a serial killer for the last name. The first name, Twiggy, it was just a cool sounding name. No one had really used it then, and I thought she was an interesting.... The only person that could compete with Marilyn Monroe I thought would be her because she wasn't American, and she was just as powerful of an icon as Marilyn Monroe. So it was just kind of competing with the name Marilyn Manson -- both names..."
He then talked about choosing serial killer Richard Ramirez.
Jeordie White On Choosing Ramirez For Marilyn Manson
"..and when it came to Ramirez, he like Manson had ties to rock music. He had a theme AC/DC. Manson to The Beatles, Ramirez was to AC/DC, so there was that tie to music. I was trying to compete with Marilyn Manson for kind of the same thing that he had picked with that name."
Manson's Rape Of The World Tour will kick off in the U.S. Saturday, January 19th in Orlando, Florida. Chris Vrenna, Rob Holliday, and Ginger Fish will join Manson and Ramirez on the trek. Tim Skold has amicably left the band, and future projects between the two have not been ruled out. Ramirez was a main partner in the golden age of Manson, which included the albums Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Holywood.

: What would be awesome is if they had Twiggy and John5 back in the band, then if Marylin decides to pull out all the stops and let them go nuts with the music. I'm a big fan of John5's abilities, and I'm saddened that he never got to use them much with Manson.POSTED: 01/10/2008 - 02:07 pm / quote |

that's kool, gutted this happened AFTER I saw Manson on his UK tour....Twiggy is my fave member, after that daisy berkowtiz and john 5 tie, though John 5 is the better guitarist by a looooong way
saw him at d/l 07 and his performance was just lacklustre at best.

: Well as long as he still has time for Goon Moon as that's (Caps for emphasis) THE BEST THING HE'S EVER DONE. His work with Chris Goss will always trump whatever he does with Manson. POSTED: 01/10/2008 - 04:50 pm / quote |

: Sweet, Antichrist Superstar and Holywood were my favorite Manson albums. Hopefully they'll work on the next MM album together too. I gotta see if they're doing a show near me.POSTED: 01/10/2008 - 05:55 pm / quote |

: ^You're an idiot. Whether you like the music or not, they aren't the worst band ever. I don't even think the music is the best, but Manson is a lyrical genius. Better than any other lyricist of the modern age. And Marilyn Manson is the absolute best showman of anyone ever.
Anyway, I don't know how I feel about this. Tim Skold was definately a better guitarist, but the albums with Twiggy were generally better. I loved Tim's solos, but having Twiggy in the band should send it back to old-school Manson, instead of the slower, more classic rock sounding stuff he did with EAT ME, DRINK ME.POSTED: 01/10/2008 - 08:36 pm / quote |

: This excites me beyond everything else..
I went to a show in sydney last year and it was as spectacular as I expected, but I kept saying all it needed was twiggy to make it 100% perfect..
I'm so happy that they are getting back together.. I knew it would happen, but I'm glad it's happening now.!!!
I hope they can come back to australia.!!
