Mark Hoppus Hits All Time Low For Song

All Time Low is currently wrapping up their tour schedule for 2008, but one of the highlights for this year will probably see the fruits bear in 2009. Alex Gaskarth, vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the band said that former Blink 182 and current +44 frontman Mark Hoppus collaborated on a song with All Time Low that will probably be on their next album.

Gaskarth talked about the collaboration with one of his musical inspirations.

"I did a co-write with Mark Hoppus on one song, and it was a really cool experience if not for the song but for the sake of meeting the guy and seeing how a dude that I idolized for so long, seeing his process for writing a song. It was very cool. Hopefully that song will make the record, and hopefully he'll maybe make an appearance on the record or something."

He also said that drummer Robert Rian Dawson was instrumental in getting the Hoppus connection going.

"Rian got a Blink 182 tattoo, and we had posted a video of him getting the tattoo online, and it turns out that Mark Hoppus saw that video and posted that video along with a little blurb about it in his blog, himynameismark.com. So we were informed of that, and so it was awesome he even recognized that. I think Rian emailed him."

Gaskarth added that after several emails went back and forth, the two management teams hooked the pair up. Look for All Time Low to follow-up their latest release, So Wrong, It's Right, with a new release in early summer of 2009. Keep it locked here. We'll have his holiday break plans shortly.

I love the title of this article. Nice double entendre. Not a fan of either Blink or +44, but this is pretty cool. I mean, it'd be like Arjen Lucassen asking if I'd work with him or something.

I have to disagree. +44's debut musically had a lot of interesting and intertwining melodies, while the lyrics seemed like almost poetic stories. Different than the old Hoppus, but still had his touch to it.

No matter what Blink182 and their members have done and ever will do, I have lost all respect for them. They're old stuff was fun and silly, the way pop punk should be. Ever since they changed direction to pop emo with their self titled debut, they have been awful. To think that a band says, "oh look what a couple of these good bands have done" and to replicate it in an even simpler, awfuller way, only to spawn the creation of countless copycat bands and change the course of popular "rock" style music for the next few years is downright condemnable. Blink182's members have become an abomination of the fun-loving band they once were

all time low is from right around my area and i have to say i hate them for personal reasons. a band i used to be with was supposed to play a show with them and the night of the show they decided to cancel because they signed a record deal and decided it wasn't worth their time to play one more little show to benefit a few other local bands. Most local bands around here that i've spoken to have nothing positive to say about them as they're so far up their own ass that they can't remember that they were just a little local band once too. i guess it happens to all bands that get big but whatever.

The song was made quite a while ago but nevertheless this is going to be cool! I'm a huge fan of both so its going to be awesome! Seeing all time low on the front page is so weird lol I remember them being just a really small band.

i think that they haven't lost their touch, but in +44 and AVA you can kinda see where each of them contributed to all of the blink songs... mark is more rhythm driven while i think tom focuses on melodic lines. still, they were better together.
