Panic At The Disco Take Fall Out Boy Honda Civic Lead

Panic! At The Disco will more than likely be the headliner for this year's Honda Civic tour. The band is following in the footsteps of Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen artists Fall Out Boy, with label business spearheaded by Pete Wentz. Panic! At The Disco is following up their album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, with a new release March 25. A sneak peak can be found at the band's website or myspace page.

With the focus on being Green, or environment friendly, Fall Out Boy headlined the tour before they took the stage for Live Earth. Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz said promoting the fuel efficient brand of Honda is like helping the environment.

[Stump] "One of the things that I think is a real problem is that I don't think you can really implore upon people's good nature and expect everyone to do something. The reality is that one of the reasons that we want to work with Honda is at the same time the Civic is better for the environment, and part of the nature of that is that it's more efficient, right? So there really is no reason not to want to be better for the environment, at this point. Hopefully...." [Wentz] "Unless you like the beach. Bring a towel, you know? (laughs)."

I think everyone should be aware as well. There are two types of sellouts.

Talented Sellouts and Pop wannabe Sellouts.

The major difference is, one sells to all agendas to make a buck off some great stuff and is timeless..

The other one (popwannabies aka Fallout Boy) promote generic material and sell their passing fad to everything they can in the very short time frame they have before they are washed out.

Real musicians, while they do need sponsors, are sponsored by music companies, or companies that make sense, like maybe an airline because they travel or a record store that sells their music or something. Not a foreign car company that wants to get a popular band to get their name out there.

Are you out of your mind? Honda is one of the largest auto manufacturers in the US and probably employs more Americans on its assembly lines than Ford or GM, figuring how Hondas sold in America are mostly built in Tennessee.

the civic isn't exactly the most enviromentally friendly cars ou there.. the engine isn't that small, and as far as i know they aren't hybrids... and the type r is fairly thirsty.. but i mean this is the first time i've heard the civic and enviromentally friendly in the same sentence... maybe its because i'm from the uk.. and its different in the U.S...

There is a Civic hybrid sold in the US. And the regular DX, LX, and EX models of the Civic are all capable of 30-40 mpg.

I saw FOB down at the Maryland Civic Center like a year ago and they were incredibly thin sounding and not even really all that great. If Fall Out Boy really cared about the enviroment, they should encourage people to ride bikes or use mass transit.

As much as I love Pete Wentz - I reacon he should start giving he's band members some of the attension, especially Patrick Stump. But if they got rid of him they just wouldn't be Fall Out Boy.

The two worst bands of all time are whoring themselves out to Civic in an attempt to reach the "green" audience. Their god-awful music surely isn't going to win over many people so I guess this is their best shot.

I went only for +44. They were amazing. I miss Blink-182. Cobra Starship were a pleasant surprise too. Paul Wall, wtf. The Academy Is... and FOB blew hard. I left after 2 songs from FOB. I don't even know why I stayed THAT long. I swear my ears were bleeding from the level of suck.

30-40mpg isn't exactly economical though, at a push its average, but definitely not "green"...

ok, i dont really have anything against FOB apart from Pete neither am i a fan in much of a sense.
What surprises me about this website is that despite the amount of anti FOB users. There is quite a reasonable number of FOB tabs. Now what im really interested in is whether the people writing and reading those tabs.
1)Argue against people who insult FOB because clearly their big enough fans to write the tabs.
2)They keep off the comment lists to avoid being ridiculed. Or my fav and the most likely.
3)They go ahead and insult anyway because their that weak as people.
