UK Alt Rockers, Placebo couldn't be more excited to get out on the road on Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour, although the band admits they were a little shocked by their first performance on the tour. Over the pond, in Europe and especially the UK, Placebo are one of the hottest touring bands around although making a name for themselves has been a little slower in the U.S. and that's why the band was eager to gain new fans on one of this summers biggest tours, Projekt Revolution. After performing at a show in Auburn, Washington to kick off the tour, the band felt the crowd needed a little more rocking set and they have altered their set list to accommodate their fans in America.
We caught up with Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal of Placebo to talk about the reasoning behind changing their normal approach to performing on the Projekt Revolution tour.
Watch video: Placebo Adjusting Set For Projekt Revolution
"The first show was a real shock and we've been continuously readjusting and trying things out since then. I think we came (on the first show) and we played a very contemplative kind of set, just kind of melancholy set and it didn't really work. We realized that at 5 O'Clock in the afternoon and three bands away from Linkin Park people just kind of really want to rock. So we've been changing our set list and trying out more sort of funky numbers."
Besides Linkin Park and Placebo 2007's Projekt Revolution features My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, H.I.M., Mindless Self Indulgence, Madina Lake, Saosin, The Bled and Julien K. The Projekt Revolution tour has dates in the U.S. extending until September 3rd in Englewood, Co. Bam Margera has also revealed and Placebo has confirmed that they have written a track for the second Viva la Bands compilation which is scheduled to be released through Bam Margera's own Filthy Note Records during 2007.

: I agree that Placebo are more awesome than the other bands could hope to be. In my humble opinion I think that instead of "three bands away from Linkin Park" they should play one band away from Linkin Park - AFTER them.POSTED: 08/13/2007 - 02:44 pm / quote |

Because LP, Placebo, MCR, and MSI are just definitely emo. Unlike Juliana Theory or Rites of Spring, they're so punk and hardcore that it hurts.
Go die in a corner, uneducated ****. HIM is the most emo band out om that tour. The other aren't.POSTED: 08/13/2007 - 10:53 pm / quote |
