Chad is awesome.

However, it is never too soon to hear more new Chili Peppers songs. Make that music boys!

yeah, can't wait!

New material at the end of the year? That's relatively quick for RHCP standards. I'm looking forward to it.

TJ1991 :
My dad's mate works at Brighton Music School, and Chad was down there the other year (pre-Stadium Arcadium), and he said they'd finished the next 3 albums. So judging by that, if you count Stadium as 2 albums, this next one will actually be about as old as Chinese Democracy by the time it's released...

what are you talking about what was the point in saying that no reason atall also take into acount stadium arcadium was gonna be 3 albums released in quick sucsession then they decided to cut it down to a double album so maybe thats what he meant and considering chinese democracy is like 14 years in the making now you cant compare that, and yeah for being quick chilis normally take about 4 years inbetween albums. gotta love chad tho, looking old but

Smith paid a visit to the Hard Rock in Los Angeles, and donated his drum set. Later that day, he was seen at the MusiCares Person Of The Year event honoring Aretha Franklin.

lol for some reason I expected it to say "later that day he was seen buying a much better drum kit...

anybody else find it a little odd how popular 'Give It Away' was? not that it's not an alright song, but it's probably one of the weaker ones on Blood Sugar Sex Magik

I would have to disagree completely. Give It Away helped get the word out about BSSM. Give It Away and Under The Bridge.

He is looking rather old now-a-days but I still cant wait for new material... New album, must be their 10th (having Stadium Arcadium as one 'double' album).

I know what you mean about 'Give It Away' though, it is a good song but they have much better.
Of course its going to help with promotion of BSSM though, it isnt the best off that particular album.

And their earlier stuff is definitely their best, again I agree, so much more energy... Stadium Arcadium is an album I can sit and listen to for hours though, great album!

He just said they'd be together again by the end of the year. I doubt another album will be done by then. Probably not till late '09 or '10.

Agreed, although i'd sell my soul for a new Chili's album!

There is always Johns solo album, which should be out anytime now!

I think anyone who is very open towards many genre's and time periods can usually classify BSSM as a milestone, classic album.

It's the bridge (no pun intended) from their funk sound to their alternative rock sound, and that's when the RHCP developed their worldly sound that is appreciated nearly everywhere. Where there are probably "better" songs on the album, it was still totally unique as far as their blend of sound, yet still radio accessible.

Besides, the Grammy's aren't big on straying off the beaten path. Usually the hard rock/metal categories are more obscure and less advertised, because they don't really know what they're talking about half the time. (see: Jethro Tull)

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That song is one of my favorites. The guitar line is so simple and groovy, the solos is wacky, the drums are bangin and the bass line is funky as shit. everything sweet about RHCP in one song.

For the Chili's this is a pretty short time split between albums but I think that John might be a large driving force behind. He released 6 albums in 6 months so he doesn't really take breaks.

I've always enjoyed the older stuff, just not the navarro stuff. That was a descent album, but i didn't like his guitar work. Chad Smith is underrated. I think John Frusciante is too. Flea is slightly overrated.

Dude, no one of those members are overrated. If someone don't like them, they are underrated.
And lol just by the way Chad talks in this vid just shows how funny he must be as a person.
And yes he is the most underrated drummer in the world.
John Frusciante is the best guitarist in the world!
Flea is the best bassist in the world!
Anthony Kiedis is the best singer, rapper and song-writer in the world!

Can you back YOUR statements up? Doubtfully. Your rich vocabulary proves that. Ever heard of musical taste ?

like the other guy said you're wrong, they ended up releasing the "3rd album" songs as B-sides in case you haven't heard and they might have some more left no one has ever heard but he probably meant that they had so many songs for 2 or three albums which they have 2 plus the B-Sides, i doubt there will be another album before 2010 because they may start working on it but if i remeber correctly they worked on stadium arcadium for about a year so if they take that long it will just to finish it, it will be about another year before it's out
