RHCP Help George Clinton Let The Good Times Roll During Hiatus |

Ever since George Clinton produced The Red Hot Chili Peppers album "Freaky Styley" back in 1985, they have shared a special musical bond and they have collaborated together countless times since then. Now that The Red Hot Chili Peppers continue on with their indefinite hiatus, it seems only natural that the director of The Mothership, George Clinton, was the only one who could bring the band together during their much earned time apart. For George Clinton's latest album "George Clinton And His Gangsters Of Love" The Red Hot Chili Peppers are joined by Kim Manning for a version of the classic song "Let The Good Times Roll."
We caught up with George Clinton to get his thoughts on The Red Hot Chili Peppers helping the music come alive for their version of " Let The Good Times Roll."
"Oh man, it brought it alive. When I do that kind of stuff they always bring it alive. They played "Free Your Mind, Your Ass Will Follow" for me and they made us start going back and redoing those songs. They are my boys. I mean, that's like family for real. I just looked at a lot of the videos the other night and they've been on quite a few of the projects with me. You know that "Presence." For instance we did that "Cinderella Theory" and "Hey Man Smell My Finger" and "Paint the White House Black" they was on that. They've been on quite a few of them. We did The Grammy's with them, both groups at the same time. Give it Away!"
Just a few of George's friends who also lent their talents to the project where Sly Stone, Carlos Santana, El Debarge, RZA from Wu Tang, Shavo Odadjian formerly of System Of A Down and Kim Burrell. Look for The Red Hot Chili Peppers to continue on their hiatus after their success of their last album "Stadium Arcadium." Although nothing is set in stone, Flea recently stated the band plans to break for at least 2 years, which will take them into 2010.

Well Kedis was never really technically skilled. He has the charisma though, and that kinda makes up for it. Hope they do some more stuff like 'Blood Sugar Sex Magic'POSTED: 01/19/2009 - 03:20 pm / quote |

I liked stadium arcadium and the b sides to it. Yeah, there was a lot of boring songs, but the good songs were really good. Death of a martian was good and funny face is amazing. I do wish they would go back to their funkier stuff. But anything they do is good.POSTED: 01/19/2009 - 05:25 pm / quote |

: I really think it wouldn't matter if they never came back. Their good stuff is behind them.
I'll always respect them for being such giant funkheads though. I never knew they still had it in them.

: I'm happy as hell, I thought this hiatus would've been going for ages, maybe even a break up for the band (come on it's been over 20 years since they got together). George Clinton producing another album with them would be awesome, although Rick Rubin does get the job done brilliantly.
So yeah... Bring on 2010 =]

There was like, an EP's worth of good songs on that entire double disc. I don't think there were any great songs. They've passed their prime. I loved everything from their second cd through By the Way, including One Hot Minute. They were the first band I ever got into. But they really need to hang it up. Sorry for the double post but I saw this and had to respond. Are you kidding me? Oh man, it annoys someone on tarr intarwebzz, I better say I love Stadium Arcadium. It was boring. It's not interesting and it's nothing innovative. Not open minded to music? That's a f*cking joke. Anyway, I listened to an interview with John recently when the interviewer mentioned that Chad had said they'd be back in about a year, and John got pretty much pissed off at it. At first he told the interviewer that he'd have to turn off the recorder, but later he said that there are right now no plans at all for them to get back together.POSTED: 01/20/2009 - 04:34 am / quote |

System has broken up , now if you want to believe that thats up to you. Serj has said that he is busy with solo stuff and Daron has just been an ******* this entire time. He came out and said that he has no plans to return to system and says that his band is now Scars on Broadway and he is not looking back. POSTED: 01/21/2009 - 04:58 pm / quote |
