She Wants Revenge garnered worldwide success and a lot of critical acclaim on their self titled debut release and the band is currently in their studio recording new material for the much anticipated second album. The band, which consists of Adam 12 on bass and keyboards and Justin Warfield on lead vocals and guitar, will look to take into the studio a few years of experience touring the world which was something the band didn't have on their first album.
We caught up with
Adam and
Justin during a break in their recording to discuss thinking more about playing their songs live during the song writing process of this album.

"I think we learned certain things on the road especially playing with a band like Depeche Mode. Just thinking about the song writing process we're thinking a little bit differently. When we made the first record I don't think we were imagining playing live but now that we have we know what it's like to interpret the songs in a live setting, I think a little bit of that has gone into the songwriting process."
We also talked with Justin about making a second album that stands up to their first one musically, lyrically and sonically, which can be a challenge for any band.

"When a band makes a second record it's usually a really big turning point for the band. Not many people can pull it off and make a second record that stands up or is better than the first record and I'm kind of excited about that challenge. It's like the band is either going to change their sound or their songs. And so, we have no intention of changing our sound. We are who we are. But songs are like things that come out of no where and then you write other ones and other ones and you put them all together and you want a cohesive album. So we don't intend to replicate the first albums in songwriting, but the sound is clearly She Wants Revenge."
She Wants Revenge will hope to have the album released by the end of 2007 with the band then heading out on the road for a world tour in support of the as of yet untitled new album. The band recently recorded a version of "Kidnap The Sandy Claws" which was released on the new Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack at the end of last year as well.
