Slipknot Set For Next DVD Release

Mick Thomson of Slipknot has revealed that the band is assembling a new DVD. The band's latest DVD release was Disasterpieces, and at the time it was a revolutionary experience.

Thomson, who was out in Los Angeles wrapping up his five city Ibanez guitar clinic tour, talked about moving on from Disasterpieces.

"I mean yeah, that really captured the show at that time. We always change and evolve. Since then, touring on this record, we always feel we have to bring something new. You have to keep people interested, but you have keep yourself interested, creatively. And to us, if we don't feel good during the show and we don't get a vibe off what's going on then how can we give that vibe to the crowd when we're not even getting ourselves. So, that, at the time was I think an incredible representation of where we were at. I'm pretty proud of the way that turned out."

He also said that fans will get a new look at Slipknot, behind the scenes, on the forthcoming DVD.

"Our next DVD that's coming out is not going to be like the same type of format, with just our newer record. You're going to get a little bit of that, but for the most part it's going to be pretty different. More backstage stuff, you're going to see a lot more inside stuff as opposed to just a concert performance."

Slipknot is taking some time away and hope to reconvene sometime in 2007. At press time there was no release date for the collection.

They alwasy take breaks, hopefully Corey won't put too much Stone Sour materiel in the Slipknot writing process, but "Stone Sour Materiel", I mean songs like The Nameless, Prelude 3.0, Circle, Vermillion Pt. 2, and Danger - Keep Away, I hope they stick to writing like Slipknot. Corey better keep his head in Slipknot, while writing for Slipknot. I'm not dissing Stone Sour, I like them, but I'd like to hear Slipknot, playing Slipknot.

Hooray...I'm going to be gettin this, but I hope he meant it when he said it's only partly going to be live performance stuff. While I love Slipknot, I already bought Disasterpieces and 9.0, which are near the same thing; they don't really need like, a DVD of 9.0 as far as I'm concerned. And did you guys read Slipknot's gettin back together in '07?! When they said they'll be takin a long break I thought they meant closer to 5 years than 3. Still a very long ways away but still awesome news if I may say so myself.

Did you really hear a resemblance(did i spell that right?)to Stone Sour in those songs? Circle and Vermillion Part 2 were acoustic songs which Stone Sour didn't have any of. I guess Prelude 3.0 was a bit like Stone Sour. Anyways all these songs except for Prelude 3.0 were incredible so if they were Stone Sour influenced I'd rather see more of that in the next album than less.

anywho, slipknot kicks ass, disasterpieces was the shit and this new dvd will be even better. To the guy talkin about coreys writing for slipknot, I accually like circle and danger-keep away they were nice, but dont forget Vol. 3 was a real expeimental album for them, plus there was rick producing and probibly pushed them to make some easy listning songs.

Slipknot is okay for when I'm angry. But aside from that they kind of...totally suck. Their lyrics don't carry a message.

I like slipknot, There not my fav band but I dont really see any reason to insult them because there drummers awsome, bassist is ok, micks pretty good, the other guy is eh. you dont really need the other guys but they put on a good live show with them all jumping around. People just hate slipknot cus its the "cool" thing to do.

as much as i've come to hate slipknot recently, i must say, i bought their disasterpieces dvd when i was really into them, and it was actually a very well prepared and packaged dvd. it had loads of extra features on it, and the concert footage itself was very well captured, with good sound. that's not to say i like the material it contained, but i wish that other band dvds had the same sound quality and amount of extra stuff on their dvds.
