Bruce Springsteen leads a troupe of artists playing concerts in honor of the inauguration of Barack Obama. He kicked off a round of performers which included Mary J. Blige singing Bill Withers' "Lean On Me", and John Bon Jovi joining Bettye LaVette for a duet. Concerts throughout the week are set with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Beyonce, James Taylor and others all performing.
Springsteen is happy with the change in regimes, and he talked about why he wanted President
Bush out of office four years ago.
"My point of view about it has been pretty simple. I think that if you mislead the country and you take the nation to war and you put our human, our sons and daughters on the line and on the basis that you took the country to war has been proven false, you lose your job. It's not rocket science. When you do that, you lose your job."
Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder also wasnt too pleased about Bush and the lies about the war in Iraq.
"They went out of their way to speak to the American people, and I think lie to the American people and build fears inside of us that made us feel so unsafe that we felt we had to do this when we really didn't have to. There was no imminent danger. Saddam Hussein did not have anything to do with nine-eleven."
Barack Obama's inauguration was set for Tuesday, and Washington DC was flooded with millions of people to witness the historic event.
